I never look at the analog, always the digital. My digital has read 159mph 2X when I had the limiter NA. I didnt look to see what the analog read but Id imagine 1-2mph more. Havent been over 150mph with the newfound power and no limiter.

I find it hilarious you guys are debating accuracy of speedos when talking about 155, 159, etc MPH. At those speeds who in hell cares!

Hit about 95mph on the oval at Gateway Int'l raceway this past weekend and about 115mph on the front straight. Felt very solid for stock suspension.

I race in Grand Am and race a Porsche 996 (but just made the switch to a 997) I have been racing since I was 8 yrs old. I am now 16. I took my Z to a track in Califonia called Buttonwillow. I was there doing a test in a formula Renault, but thought it would be fun to see what the Z could do. I was simply amazed. I got it up to 127 on the front straight and went through turn one at about 70 I was amazed at how much grip there was. This is a very forgiving car. The car seemed to corner a lot better w/ quite a bit of weight on the nose but does not like abrupt decisions such as popping off the brake and/or gas...Just keep that in mind.

Brickyard - I wasn't debating with anyone, I was stating fact. Just contributing to the discussion - FAI - for anyones information.

I agree, at those speeds 5mph does not make much difference.

I've had mine verified by a laser via the highway patrol. Is that good enough for you??

FWIW - my analog and digi read the same at the limiter. At lower speeds the digi does seem to lag behind, but once I peg the limiter both stay pegged at 159 (the analog is just a hair under 160).

I usually drive 100mph+ as long as i can in the freeway. For example, I drove from Santa Ana, CA to Indio, CA this Friday. on the 60 east right before it turns into the 10 east I go 80-100 (for those not familiar, it is a road with lots of turns). Long stretches I only slow down because I anticipate the law is near. I have gone up to 152 or so; a car got in the way, changed lanes in front of me and on a two lane road there isn't much room.

I go 140mph+ on the 15 north and south from OC to Barstow. The 40 (barstow freeway) is where I have driven the fastest. I go to Daggett to shoot. Sig p220

I don't see much of a difference other than if you drive with the windows down, which I do a lot of, then there is a lot of wind, lol. I had the bridgestones and those felt tight. I liked them. I don't like my new cheap tires, dunlop dirrezzas in the front and goodyear fierce in the rear. i think the soft sidewalls (compared to run flat bridgestones) make the car feel woobbly when turning.

by the way, i think if a rabbit got in my way going 125mph+ I would "take" it. the inertia i think/hope will save me. The front bumper should toss the little thing.

haha. thats only 5mph more than my 2.3L focus. I'd probably take a bit longer getting to that speed than you would though

Just got back from vacation today, Z freak. No, I have not been back out yet to get it up over 130. Though the posts here do increase my confidence in doing so under right circumstances.
