Also, If you have black interior the 35% will be darker. Why don't you do 20% on the back and 35% on the sides. Actually, that is my vote but like I said if I went any darker than the 35% I have I would be harassed!

It depends on your area. Here in CT (NB) every other car has 20% and noone ever gets ticketed, as far as ive heard.

20% back, 35% sides. so far no hassle in SF, however, the Z isn't my daily driver so maybe the tint police haven't had enuff chances.

Keep it 35% all the way around so it doesnt disrupt the flow...

IMO, going two different % tints looks kind of lame...

I've got 20% all around, also from CT. The cops around here won't pull you over for having the tints, but if they pull you over for speeding, then they will add the tints to the list of things you did wrong. But I have never heard of anyone getting pulled over solely for tints.

Tints give the cops a reason to pull you over in my area, it stinks!

I have 20% all around, and it's perfect.
It will be a nice match on your black paint.
Had it for over a month and no stops.
p.s.- i also live in md.

I'd agree with not mis matching tint percentages, looks ugly. I had 20% on my Altima and never got pulled over in my neighborhood. But as soon as I was in the cities hanging out I would get pulled over. Depends on how strict the police in your area are.

make sure you don't used the car pool lane at the Baybridge...CHP will pull you over for tinted windows.

Hey bd,

I had the same dilemma. I have an 06 Blk Enthusiast in Michigan where 5% is legal on the back and no tint is allowed on the front windows.... My final decision 2 weeks ago was 20% all around (except windshield). It looks good and it's dark except if you are directly behind the Z, then you can see shapes through the back window.

My advice would be to do 20% all around.... if you think 35% will be too light you will definitely be disappointed when you pay several hundred to have your doubts stuck to your windows. Also I would advise getting a higher quality tint with titanium in it; this will reflect light and heat instead of absorbing it like a normal dyed tint; thus titanium tint won't fade into a purple color over time. When I say titanium it doesn't mean the tint has a mirrored appearance.... mine is a normal looking charcoal tint.

And you will give the cops more of a reason to pull you over.... but it can work in your advantage. In my old car I was pulled over for speeding but the officer said he was going to give me a break and only write me up for the windows.... went to court..... paid $40 in court costs..... no POINTS!!!

Sorry for rambling.... do 20%!!!
