Smooth? Kind of. It's about as smooth as a bed with a hot date in it. If you don't notice all the twists, turns and bumps, you're missing out on a great time!

The Z really isn't a smooth car... If your looking into smooth driving cars I would suggest going with a lexus... The Z is more of a sporty and high performence car...

you can feel bumps on the road more compared to other cars, but when it does hit a bump it doesnt rock back and forth as much either.

I have an 04 accord sedan myself (my "smooth ride") so I'm not looking for a smooth ride...I'm just wondering why my friend's stock 06 z is much smoother than mine.

Dude, didn't you read the replies written on your own topic ?!?

We've answered that question 3 times now. This will be the fourth.

Change your dampers! That is what make your '03Z feel harsh.

Dampers...

Spring rates?

How do you increase spring rate 80 lbs and soften the ride? Reduce shock rate? How can you change the rear without changing the front and not screw up over/under steer?

Oem springs 350Z’s 2003/2004
Front:314 Rear:342

Oem springs 350Z 2004.5/2005 (found 04 car's that have the revised susp.)
Front:314 Rear:427

The only way you'll have a smooth ride is if you some how convince the government that GLASS is a better alternative to asphalt...

One of the more obvious ways to change ride characteristics:

Tire pressure and type of tire.

I noticed when I bought my 2004 Roadster the suspension felt floaty when it whet over bumps or taking corners really hard. Since I put on Nismo Suspension and Sway bars the car sticks to the road and feels more like a true sports car.
