What type of car covers do you guys use (if you use one at all). I was just quoted $219 from my dealer for the Nissan 350Z cover. I'm thinking about just buying one from Pepboys or Autozone(their premium covers). I'm currently in Tucson, AZ and it's windy and dusty here...I have covered parking at my apartment complex but it doesn't do much to protect from blowing dust.

The premium covers at autozone and pepboys are about $110 so I may just shellout the extra $100 and get the Nissan cover.

The Nissan cover is deffinitely worth it. The Weathersheild fabric is much better than the NOAH or Evolution fabrics those Pepboys covers are made of, lighter, tougher, folds compact and fitment on the car is perfect. I've been using mine for a year and it's still in great shape. I've tried those other fabrics and they are bulky and break down after a while. If it's breezy, just be sure to secure it nice and tight.

I have the genuine Nissan cover. If I am not driving the car, it is covered. If winds are 25 plus mph, you will have to tie the cover down. If it is 100 degrees outside and the car is in the sun, I guarantee that interior temperatures will reach 120 degrees.

Nissan is the best cover.. I think you will get a slight discount at Performance Nissan, or other places besides the dealership.

I prefer the Factory NISSAN Accessory car cover as well... The material does not trap dust and little rocks... does not absorb water either...

The stillen cover is ok... It has a more fabric material... little rocks and dust get trapped in it easier... its a better cover if you are only keeping your car in a garage...

I bought the Genuine Nissan cover from Courtesy. It has all the features that you would expect for $200:

Window for license plate
Antenna pouch
Grommets for tie-down
Insulation to protect from exhaust burn













The cover is on the Z about 16 hours/day: wind, rain and snow. Its water repellent, not waterproof. A light rain and the car is dry. During a heavy downpour, the car will get wet. For care, I wash it in a front loading commercial machine, then dry it on the car. Then spray the top with Scotch Guard. I can take it on or off in about 3 minutes. A week after washing the Z (and using the cover), the Z is clean except for the front wheels. Definitely recommended.

The cover is water repellent not water proof. A water proof cover has a disadvantage: condensation under the cover in the morning. There may be a padded cover but think about this: if it gets wet how do you dry it?

Ok, I just got Genuine Nissan cover for $180 from a local dealer. I used it last night and it works great! A layer of dirt & dust was all over the cover instead of my car this morning so I was happy!

I have a few questions though. Is there a certain way to fold it - to make installation quicker/easier? It's easy to install but hard to do it without the cover touching the ground...also if it's a little breezy outside I found it a little harder to install. This morning after removing it I pretty much just "bunched" it up and threw it in the trunk. I'm just wondering if there is a quick way to fold it up nice and compact that'll also make it easy to install.

It's a great cover though..I'm impressed with the weathersheild fabric.
