Default Manufacture Date

If the car was manufactured in Sept 2003, does that make it an early model 04? I am looking at an 04 Z and that is the manufacture date on it. I was trying to figure out if it was an early model or late model 04. I have the VIN also -- JN1AZ34D44T153044.

Thanks.

If it was manufactured that early, then it's an '04. Around Nov or Dec, they started producing the 2004.5 model.

VIN numbers:

2004 Nissan 350Z Coupe/Roadster (Coupe VINs up to D*4T160000,E*4T060000) (Roadster VINs from D*4T102001 to D*4T110000 & from A*4T002001 to A*4T010000)

2004.5 Nissan 350Z Coupe/Roadster (Coupe VINs from D*4T160001, E*4T060001) ( Roadster VINs from D*4T110001, A*4T010001)

Based on the serial number you gave, it's definitely a 2004.

The tenth character is the year of manufacture so the 4 is 2004

Mine says June 2003 - I purchased it as a 2004 in August and it hasn't had any of the '03 problems.

So you would say that it is definetely an EARLY model 04 and not an 04.5?

I'm trying to find out if it has the knee cushions. Would that tell me that it is an 04 or 04.5?

Are you sure? I purchased mine Apr '05 and mine is D59M6001662. So by your definition I have an '06?

My sticker says it was made in May 04, but I have a vin with D*4M******. No T in there. It has knee pads. I thought mine was 2004.5... Could mine be 2005 model??

just go by the 10th number in the VIN. that gives you the MODEL year.
