Huge bird poo on my Z (PICS)
A bird poo the size of my palm just landed on my Z today. Got out of work, and didn't even notice it until I got home. Went to Autozone and bought this RainX bug&tar remover. Washing it off once the sun goes down. I have never seen a bird pudding that huge and messy. (Pics available) Any recommendations before the wash would be appreciated. Thanks
Hahah you took a picture of it.. looks like some hawk ****
i've seen worse...especially on my van which i havne't washed for over 2 years...there's crap piled on top of crap, it's like the bird's aim for the "clean" spots because they can't stand it when it's not covered in ****
Get a soaked towel and let it rest over the spot for a few minutes. Once the poo soaks up the water, then gently take the towel and remove the poo from that area. Then take your bug/tar remover and spray it on top. Wipe down.
After that, I would use a claybar and do that entire area. Hopefully the acid from the poo didn't eat anything away or leave a stain on the clearcoat. Look at the area from an angle to see if there is a stain.
BTW - that added 5 hp to your car.

You realize that you can't gain 5 hp by doing that, right?
Only NOS stickers can do that for you.. get it right!

remember the end of the last jurassic park? i always wondered where those terradactyles were going to end up after they ended up escaping from that huge bird cage and were flying over the ocean. i guess they finally made it to cali.
Well, I just finished washing my car and I must say that the RainX bug&tar remover worked really well, highly recommended. I just sprayed it on the poo, let it sit for 3 minutes, easily wipes off, then its ready for a car wash. During the wash, I notice there was more drops of poo, bits on the windshield and hood. I checked the car, and didn't notice any damage to the paint, I just got lucky. That bird sure made my day. I don't even live near the beach or the mountains. Not sure what kind of bird was it. Well, thanks for input guys.
Just so you know, bird poo etchings in the paint go away on their own after a couple of days. Just have to remove the big bits as you did with a quick detailer. Do not use water, as it reactivates the acid in the poo.
