Default Production Z in Texas in June

I believe this topic came up on the old forum, but I received some
more info on the subject from NNA yesterday. As many of you
probably know, the national Z convention is this June in San Antonio.
A huge caravan of Z's, of all different generations, will make the
trip from Dallas to San Antonio, by way of Austin. This caravan
will be lead by a production 350Z. I believe the caravan will organize
at Texas Motor Speedway. The caravan will be making a stop at
Maxwell Nissan in Round Rock on June 16 between 1-3 pm. They
will then continue on to SA. I was also told that Mr. K will be attending
the convention. I was not planning on going to the convention, but
this makes it a tough decision. I will try to find out more info.

For more general info about the 15th Annual ZCCA Convention
visit - http://www.z-sport.com/conv2002info.html

Hope to see several of you at the Round Rock gathering!

Oh the delima. I know I NEED to go to that. But being carless will force me to try to convince on of my friends(most of them don't care about cars) to give me a lift. Well, I guess if I see you guys there, I do, and if I don't too bad for me. If at least a few people are planning on going it would be cool to organize a place to meet there.

The more people we could get there, the better it would be. If some of you guys come from a while away, I HAVE to get to that thing. It just wouldnt' be right since I live so close.

Hell BonZ, that is what airplanes are for. And rental cars. We don't have to let them have all the fun. I don't know if I will go or not . We will see.Work is pretty busy and my partner has a vacation sometime around there.

Well I think the members of this forum that are local to Dallas-Ft. Worth should make a good showing at this event and report back to the forum all details. Also, anyone that can make it down here should try. I haven't heard of another opportunity like this to see this car anytime sooner (outside of the mysterious sightings in So. Cal).

Wow, I can't believe a car has created such a craze.

No kidding.

Actual rainmanz, my dad is great friends with an owner of a shipping company. It's going to cost me $1200 round trip to ship the Z from chicago to salt lake city. The car is going to be in an enclosed transportor. I'm planning on taking the car to Speedweek on the Bonnivile slat flats. See what this bady can top out at

Are you sure its the 16th. That is fathers day. It could be on that day, it just doesn't make too much sense. I still really want to go. I'm in the process of convincing one of my friends to take the day off too and drive my lame carless self out there.

DC,

I am pretty certain it is the 16th. Registration in Monday the 17th. I hope you can make it to the gathering at TMS.

I will have to make my visit to Houston to see the family short, so I can be back for the 350Z arrival in Round Rock. They will all understand, though.

Looks like I'll just have to take off work that day or call in sick I'm not going to miss it. Especially since I live right here in Austin. My friends just don't understand this whole Z craze.... Oh well

Registration is May 17th? I am going to do all that I can to be there. My friends don't understand my car crazyness either. But luckily a few of them are loyal enough to do me that favor. At least I hope so.

Default Texas caravan

I must say that I am jealous that we don't have an official caravan of Zcars. Is it because Dubya is from Texas??
Well good for you, make sure you take lots of pics and give us less fortunate sons and daughters of the Z Clan some vicarious thrills.
I hope that here in New Yawk, especially on Long Island, we will have a caravan to rival if not surpass the one in Texas.

Don't sweat it.. I'm sure someone will have a digital cam & take some pics to post on this site. I still find it somewhat amazing that we've all put money down on a car that, most of us, haven't seen in person (sat in or driven). Motor Trend is going to have a
field day with this car after it comes out. Can you say 'Car of the year'?

DC,

I meant June 17th. Registration (i.e. check-in) is Monday, June 17th. That is why the caravan will be on Sunday the 16th. Spoke to Pops today, and he said he understood that I needed to be here for the stop. I will definitely be getting some pics with a dig cam. Hopefully, I will be able to get some video. I will definitely do my best to give a fair representation of the caravan/event to those who can't be here.

if the thunderbird can manage car of the year for motor trend, the new z had better be able to as well.
