Default For those who had oil problems

For those who were going thru 1 quart of oil every 1,000 or there abouts, did anybody flat out get refused a replacement block or engine or whatever from the dealer?

If they say that it's normal to loose 1 quart every 1,000 miles, who do you need to get in touch with, to get them to fix it?

Smith and Wesson?

I will tell you now if they don't figure out and fix it when I bring this to their attention, I will let it sit in my driveway and let them repo the car.

When the bank says why didn't you make payments, I'll say ask Nissan.

I'm getting a little ahead of myself with all this talk but I'm preparing for the worst, which is the best I can ever expect from a dealer in regards to warranty issues.

1 quart every 1000miles ain't normal..... you would have replaced all the oil in the engine if you are to drive cross country for 5000 miles. Does that mean you don't need an oil change by then?

You can blame anyone you want, but your credit report will still reflect a repossession, and you will still be liable for the balance due, with accrued interest.

The bank/loan company isn't responsible for your problem. They simply provided the funds that enabled you to buy the car.

Deal with the problem like a responsible adult.

LOL that's what I thought. If yer dumping that much oil in it, you'd only need to change the filter like once a year because the oil wouild always be clean.

I just want to know where the hell it's all going? It doesn't leak a drop at least not while it's parked. Doesn't smoke that I can see. It just dissapears. Running way to rich?? Wierd

icon20: Yes i am fighting that now......

They tell me they can not do anything until they hear back from Nissan Technical Advisors. They say it is normal.....

My A$$ it is....

So does anyone have a Nissan official take on this???? I am ready to trade this in. Nothing but issues and bad service 5 months old and 10k miles. spent have those miles (it feels like) driving back and forth to dealer. with the famous words "NOT COVERED"

anyway... life goes on

It must be in writting someplace, what is and what is not considered normal oil consumption for the Z.

Surely there are mechanics in here who work on these cars?

If selling my car or trading it in on something else was a finicial option for me, I would, unless for some crazy reason, my dealer is actually cool and fixes the problem which is highly unlikely.

If I can't get a dealer to fix it, I guess the next step would be legal action.

If that don't work guess I will just have to feed the POS oil and pray it never gets any worse, then soon as financially possible, sell it asap.

Smile "Approved"

You are not going to believe this but the dealer is ordering a short block today.

NO ****.....

Should i take the short block or replace the car? it is a 06 with 12k miles, started the oil usage test at 2k miles....

Car has other issues that they are finally working on, but should i push for new or be greatful for the short block

Well my dealership is a bunch of Fawking idiots!!!

I went throught 1 qt in the 1k miles and they told me it wasn't excessive since it took me 4mths to complete.

Going to another dealer 1hr away and they assured me it will be taken care of.

my buddy had a 06 brand new his car was bone dry on the first and second oil change. That is besides the point the car would sometimes not start at all or stall out.due to the second issue nissan bought the car back LOL. He had it for like 3 months. He stated he is never going to buy a nissan again. He filed a claim with the BBB
