Z Enthusiasts and Mentor in Maryland?
I'd like to get into tweaking and working on cars. Does anybody have suggestions on how I can start or know where I can learn more. It would be sort of nice to have a mentor =) I currently live in Bowie, Maryland. Are there any Z or car enthusiasts in the area?

1. Use the forum properly. Regional threads belong in the regional forum.
2. Visit the drag races. Talk to a pro-mod crewchief. Ask to crew. You will begin with washing and waxing the trailer. Later advancing to cleaning parts. One day you might help with a motor build.
3. Keep an eye open for Will someone come over and help me with... posts. You don't have to know much just be there for support.
4. Buy a tool that no one has. Say a sophisticated OBD scanner. When someone needs help, you will be the man.
5. Work on your own car. You will never figure out that spark plug threads are more tough than aluminum until you cross thread one.
6. Become knowledgeable about one thing. Tires for example. Study compounds, racing, wet-dry performance trade-off and sizes. Help forum members. They will respond in kind.
