Unhappy oil consumption/engine replacement

Ok folks, My new 06 z with 6k miles is burning oil excessively and from a search on this subject I see I am not the first. Unfortunately I see an engine replacement in my future. Im taking the car in on monday and I fear that will be the response. I have also had issues with the engine knocking as well. At this point Im feeling like they ought to just replace the car. My question is will nissan do that or will I have to settle for the new engine? does anyone know about lemon laws that might make the issue easier? And what are peoples experience with the engine replacement (is a longblock replacemant better and will nissan do that or insist on a shortblock)? Is it like a new car or is it gonna be a whole new set of problems? I love the car and Im hating my dilema.

They put a new longblock in mine with 48k on the odometer. Good luck!

Let me know what happens, cuz I'm in the exact same boat as you. I'm having the second oil chnage done next Saturday with a little over 7,000 miles and 4 months old car and having them do an oil consumtion test.

They will put in a new block or they will die.

There is a 99.9% chance that they WILL NOT replace your car. Something like that would happen after a few attempts to fix it right and after a lemon lawyer was contacted and a bunch of other ugly stuff.

yeah a new car is wishful thinking, but the idea that an essentially brand new car having to have the engine replaced is really got me pissed. If that is what they do it better be a longblock. I don't want some regular tech tearing down and rebuilding my engine. Hell no! And I mean no disrespect, but an engine rebuild is not your avg. service. Maybe it woulnd't bother me on an old car with 100k miles on it, but on a brand new 30k$ sports car I don't think so. Anyways, I'll let ya know what happens. Pray for my beast
