Nissan wrecked the original 240z by adding weight and crap each year, why wouldn't they do the same to the 350Z (yes, I own an original 350Z and glad too.)

Be happy with what you got! I'm happy with my '03 Z and If I had an 06 I'd still be happy. (maybe happier since it's newer)

newer isn't always better. The headlights and tail-lights on the '06 are straight out of the rice cooker.

prove to me the 06 actually weight tha tmuch more. Bunch of local guys took their cars to the track here and weighed out pretty much the same. The only cars that actually weighed 100+pounds lighter were the o3 track models. There were no 200pound differences between the 06 and other years.

copied paste albertos post from regional track meet post

Wanted to add in these #'s so everybody has them for future reference. if you see your car and would like to specify if yuo had any weight reduction such as spare/tools or anything else(gas level) make note...

Me = 3125-3/4 tank of gas, no spare, no passenger seat
Ryan-Black G = 3600
Dan (Celica) = 2325
Osix-Mike = 3170 **I told you the 06's werent heavier
Rico(sp?) Nightshade = 3170
Booby Ritz-Rob = 3500
Project Sherv = 3450
Ben-Poopra = 3160
Kirk-Orange Z = 3160
Bob-Silverstone = 3230
Integrity-Charles = 3180
David = 3060 *Lightest Z there
Mike-MDRacer = 3290
Tony-EVO = 3190
Last but not least Brents roadster aka The tank = 3770

Pretty cool we did this guys for those that have dyno'd you can now calculate very accurate power to weight.

Does anyone know what was changed that added all the supposed weight gain? Not saying its not just wondered what was added because lights didn't add that type of weight. As far as performance numbers has any mag or anybody else actually tested the 06. I know bigger brakes and different specs on engine but never seen an actual test.

The above weights are from our track day. As you can see "Osix" and Bob were no heavier than the rest, certainly not 200lbs like everybody thinks the 06' Z's weigh....that myth is BS! Any year Z, 6mt is a drivers race to 60mph and down the 1/4.

+1 ... especially on the new tail-lights, who would not want to upgrade their brake lights to LEDs?

I personally don't like the way the new headlights look (too bug-eyed looking).. The LEDs are definitely better, but I wish they were more even looking.

If he did I dont remember it, alcohol is a mind eraser No way in hell though, with his cage and rims that look heavy, Id bet hes over 3200lbs EASY....

TTW that list David posted was a copy/paste from my old post after the track day. First one where it says ME-3125lbs-was my car. Pretty light for adding 70lbs of turbo kit to the front end and doing other weight reduction I think.

No problem, I also hate when people pull that card when they cant run 13's in their Revups like other Z's
