I voted for the Z33. IMHO it is a lot sexier. Like someone else said earlier, the Z32 is just one BAD *** car!

I really liked the Z32 back in the day, but I have to agree with most that the Z33 looks a little sexier to me now.

On a sort of related note, I saw a really nice Z31 today while driving around town. It was black and in really good shape.

in 7th grade, way back in 1987, Mrs Menchel, my super hot science teacher had a white Z31 turbo. She let me sit in the car, but I never got a ride, if you know what I mean...I didn't think there could be a sexier car until Nissan dropped the bomb on the auto industry in 1990 with the Z32.
I went to the Javitz auto show that year, and collected every piece of literature on the "Z." and wall papered my room with it. I thought there could never be a more beautiful Z.
Then in 03, Nissan done dropped the bomb again. I went to the dealership and tried to lease a base model, which was all I could afford at the time. But demand for the car was so high, they wanted $500/month for a car with a MSRP of $27k. I ended up leasing a G35 sedan with a Nismo body kit, for the same price, which had a MSRP of 38k. But I swore one day I was getting that Z33, which I did.

At the end of the day, each Z, including the Z34 is a true beauty in its own way for its own time. The Z34 Nismo is right up there as well, for the here and now.

I'm wondering what Nissan has in store for the Z35, and are the folks at Nissan brave enough to mate the most powerful version with a standard shift. In my opinion, if they don't offer the stick shift, the will have gone extinct.

Yep, the BRUTAL TRUTH remains as valid 2018 as it was in 2015, when that thread was started. Lots of speculation, and there's no doubt Nissan will retain the Z nameplate, but there's nothing aside from design studies.

The older I get and the more I know about cars I more I start to miss older cars. With just about every car today becoming harder and harder to maintain; cost-cutting for the sake of appearance and sales pitches and cheap manufacturing. Not to mention that a lot more people today are borrowing to buy their cars or leasing them; there really is not a good reason for car companies to comply to my ("our") preferences. That's why I feel all-electric cars will be the only "new" car I will be buying for the remainder of my life. I much rather prefer an older car that I can easily wrench on.

Getting back on topic. Looks wise I love my Z33; however me being in my mid 30s Kill Bill was the first movie that really showed how sexy the Z32 is; and it's hard to argue for it was made before the Renault merge and before cost savings were a thing.

Interesting. You say that like it's a bad thing. Did I read that wrong?

Before the Renault-Nissan (now Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi) Alliance, Nissan was on the ropes. BADLY. Had it not been for Renault (and of course, Carlos Ghosn), good chance none of us would even be here waxing ecstatic about our chosen automotive poison. The 350Z would have been stillborn, and Nissan itself, would likely be just another footnote in automotive history, along the lines of a Pontiac or Plymouth, or DeSoto or Studebaker or <you-name-the-defunct-car-company>.

So, cost cutting is a bad thing? Yeah, maybe from the human perspective AND likely from some design compromises that went into the 350Z and other cars, but at least we are able to have them and even with the Z34 pretty much on its last legs, the company will go on and maybe we'll see a Z35 after all.

Oh, back on topic as it were..... I love my 33 but seriously, the styling of the 32, IMO, easily ranks as perhaps THE sexiest of ALL Z cars (except the original S30 ). From a performance perspective, I prefer my 33 to any car. It is the perhaps the most toss-with-abandon-then-beg-for-forgiveness cars I've owned over any BMW, Datsun, Nissan, Porsche, etc. ever in my garage.

You're right the Z33 and maybe Nissan all together would most likely been scrapped if not for the merger; my comment was geared more towards the direction of car manufacturing and ownership. It's obvious that if well designed/maintained cars should be able to last for decades; people are buying and getting rid of them every few years like they are disposable. And unfortunately the car market is what it is and most new cars seem to be manufactured with that mindset. You have to agree that most 90s cars > 00 cars from a enthusiast perspective. I think its the major reason why the Z32, Supras, RX-7s, Skylines are still appreciating.

Ah yes, the old "cars as appliances" syndrome. Back in the early '90s (and before) when forums like this were all via "eMail lists", we used to argue this point ad nauseum. There were the "enthusiasts" and there were the "I need a car to go to work and don't care otherwise" people. Still that way.

Only nowadays, seems like an entire generation of gradual-fade-to-black went missing and we hung an immediate u-turn back to "appliances".

Ah well, not of any matter so long as I still gots me some Z-car.

Saw a z32 parked next to a couple porsches at the dealership displayed at the front a few days ago.. Took a quick pic but quality was bad. Fast forward a few days, and I believe someone bought the z32.

Default z32/z33

i have both models, like them equally. they are like my children..... of the korn.
my z32 is my daily and do like driving it and the looks / styling which i believe will never get old, it looks better than most cars even at 28 years, the z33 will do just as well for they are both unique cars.
