Default 350Z $28K better than GSR?

I know you guys will laugh at me but,

Anyone get a Z coming from a GSR and regret it or miss it jsut a little bit? I have a GSR and LOVE it. But now that I am more succesful in life and want more power and style, I am about to give the GSR to my lil bro and move on.

You guys are probably laughing at me but the GSR was a nice ride. I want to keep it but I only have 1 garage space and do not trust it parked outside. It was so light and nimbleand fun. When I drove the Z (although I was not pushing it) it felt BLAH. So overall driving feels and "funness", is it as good as the honda stuff? I jsut need reasurance I guess....

i came from a 00' celica gt-s. compareable to a GSR (2500 lbs. 1.8L 180hp). when i got my Z i found it a little heavy...but the Z is definately an upgrade in everyway except gas mileage and passenger space.

Same here, 2000 Celica gt-s 6speed. I agree the Z feels wider and heavier, but then again, the Z is much quicker, and handles just about as good.

First of all, the GSR is a great track car. Why dont you put some coilovers, energy bushings, sways, rims and go Solo 1. Secondly, the was BLAH? Is that a good thing? Thirdly, nobody will make fun of you having a GSR unless they are complete morons. The GSR is arguably one of the best cars ever made. Its no coincidence its has been #1 in theft in the US for years. Be proud of it. A lot of people would kill to have one, starting with me. I had to settle with a Civic since it was a good deal and I'm modifying for track.

i had a '00 civic EX... not quite a GSR but it's close... i loved the little thing... i could toss it all around, and not problems... the Z is significantly heavier... but IMO the Z is alot more fun to drive... it's just a different style of fun...

I didn't come from a GSR but I came from a Civic hatch with a built b20vtec (CR-V block, GSR head, for those unaware) and boy I miss that alot. Ample amount of torque and top end to kill for, all in my civic which weighed barely 2000 lbs. Sometimes when I floor my Z I just sit and wait for it to scream like my civic did, but oh well. Rear wheel drive is much more fun, and I'm happy with the Z, although the civic was much faster. Guess I need to start modifying heavily now.

I went from a GSR to a Z. Have you considered an S2K instead of a Z? I wanted the V6 and didn't want to have another high reving 4. If only Honda\Acura would make a high performance V6 in the Z's price range.

I had a 98 GSR and went to a "Z" . I miss the GSR tranny and top end power but think of the Z more of a grown up car.

i ran a 13.2 at california speedway. i doubt my Z will run that. my block was built, 84.5mm 11.8:1 wiseco pistons, forged rods, type R cams and header, RC 310 injectors, hondata etc.

dude dont get rid of your GSR I got rid of mine before my Z I had a 94 gsr for maybe 4 years and it was the greatest car ever, it surprised me so many times. I beat alot of nice cars in it and as we speak im tracking it down from owner to owner im very close i found out its in deltona florida and im asking the guy to sell it back to me. The memotries are still there and I want them back! stay with the GSR and do what my freind did, change put on a cut off switch and hide it when its parked out side they wont touch it with an alarm a club and a clutch club i know it sounds alot but it works!!

DUUDE! Thank you, you totally know how I feel. BTW, its a 94 GSR with TYPE-R LCA, shocks, springs,JDM 22mm rear sway bar, and falkin AZENIS. 50% of mornings on the way to work there is this left turn light that is always yellow JSUT FOR ME! Throw it in there (believe me or not but its true) 4 wheel drift, correct, and when it grips again there is that jerk of grip. You guys arent helping!

Anyways this is what Ill do: When my lil bro moves here to go to school, Ill let him drive my GSR, pay for the extra garage space and leave his CIVIC in san jose with mom and dad. That way, I can claim that its mine but he will just "use" it. And the GSR will be parked next to me Z (hopefully) in the garage. Brilliant!

I went from a GSR also. My gsr handled amazing after suspension upgrades. I miss driving a slammed car, but the attention I get in the Z is so much better. I also didnt want to look like just another street racer in the gsr, so I got a more 'mature' car...the Z!!!

I miss vtec sometimes, but would never go back to it after having the Z now.

I know what you mean... there is one just like it on my way to work... nice and wide so i can really lean into it... slide the backend out and catch a small drift towards the tailend of the turn and get that little "snap-back" into my line...

i wouldn't be surprised if i walked around in the intersection if i found a trail of rubber where i've banked that turn soo many times...

i've also been practicing on making my drifts a little more smooth... eliminating that jerk... staying on the throttle and correcting the steering by the wheel first then back off the accelerator, and feel it slide into place... i also find it better to practice it in the rain...

makes me wanna go out right now and hit a few corners
