I love how in the Z it says to never let a child under 12 ride in the car, PERIOD. At least in the evo it says sit in the back seat, lol. I know, all these new rules and stuff are crap. I kind of understand, on the other hand, how they might help some really ignorant people, however...

Yeah, but then the rest of us have to pay for it.

I dont have a kid, and if I did, I would have a second family car or something like the evo where there was an appropriate back seat.

I've seen alot of bs posts here about this new engine the '07 is getting. Well, first... there's the people who can't read nissannews.com and accept the fact that yes, it is getting it... in 2007. But then there are a slew of peeps here who think that the new engine is gonna suck for FI... WTH? The GTR is getting this same engine twin turboed, is it not? If anything, it'll be easier and maybe, even possibly... better than what is currently out there for aftermarket FI on the VQ35DE. Positive speculation beats negative speculation every time... but at the end of the day, it's all just... speculation.

all people are saying is that the new engine gets a bump in compression ratio, which is always bad for FI. for instance, and evo (*cough) runs around 21 psi stock turbo boost, while it's pistons run an 8.8:1 compression ratio. 2006 z's are above 10:1. for those guys with turbo/sc kits on their cars, they cannot turn up the boost very high, before the knocking starts happening. I'm sure, if this is the GTR engine, that it will have very low compression pistons. people are just saying that boost cannot be cranked up with a higher stock compression ratio (with stock internals). with new internals i'm sure this engine will be better, with the 40% more rigid block and ladder reinforcement design.

Nissan has a history of using the same block for N/A and Turbo Applications. They typically go from Crowned or Domed pistons to dished pistons when going to the Turbo application. Is it aslo fairly easy to swap rods to shorted forged units for the Turbo version.

For those who want to go F/I with the 350Z will just need to order the nissan swap parts.

Yes, but i think some people are too lazy to swap internals, instead they just run like 6 pounds of boost, which will be even harder with a higher stock compression ratio.

But the VQ35HR is supposed to have beefed internals...So it is better overall, and hopefully better when you want to go F/I

The design doesn't really work. The round headlights look out of place. To me the current generation is a better achievement. That is not a Nissan sketch, anyways, so.

It does look a little like a porsche, but I think the front end looks more like the Nissan Versa.

Also, as for the speculated 350 horsepower; I wouldn't doubt it. If Nissan wants to come even remotely close to the 2009 Camaro, it is going to need 350 horsepower or more. I'm guessing the 2009 Camaro is going to have around 400 horsepower, the Corvette will be bumped up in horsepower to 450.

Lastly, I can't wait for someone to reply to my message (like they always predictably do) by saying that, "horsepower isn't everything...the Nissan 350Z handles better, and its the overall driving experience." Riiiiiiggghhht. Every review I've read, states that the 350Z drives like a muscle car anyway, and the 2009 Camaro will be light years ahead of where it last left off.

Nissan has it's work cut out for them. They enjoyed a safe existence without a Camaro for almost it's entire first 6 years. Now the competition is stepping up, and personally, I think everyone is better off because of it. Late 2008, and 2009 is going to be a great 15 months.

with the new 3.5L vq engine, Z should be able pump out over 310+ hp. If they bump the displacement to 3.8L, then it can do close to 350hp for sure.. but HP isn't everything.. if it looks like the one in the magazine, then not many people gonna buy it. I would rather get the less hp Caymen..
