Plan on doing the same thing with the addition of OBD for datalogging + camera when I pick up my Z, hopefully I can work out a nice deal so I have money for mods . Would be kinda cool in AUTO-X, the weight for it is minimal (weight of a small pc or laptop basically).

Z is gonna be my first RWD was going to spring for the track because it had VDC but I guess I'll stick with the Enth. Hope I dont die

Even if the improvement is only 5-10hp, It'll definately be noticeable in the 1/4 especially with the higher red line and we also dont know if the gearing has been changed.
Those are some awesome setups. I do remember a bunch of people on this forum installing in-car PC's as well. The only thing I would worry about with auto-x is the integrity of the computer components. I'm not good enough to worry about adding 20 lbs to my car. There's fat dudes that weight twice what I do beating the crap out of me week in and week out.

It looks like they got rid of the nasty 180 degree flow bends in the old Manifold. That will help VE and improve the whole powerband. It will probably help FI cars a ton.

good luck on the computer. my g:
That's a very good assessment. With a higher rpm limit, you can gear tighter, creating better power delivery and more raciness.
Just compare our Z to a freakin' Ford Mustang. That thing has supposedly more hp than ours, but can't deliver because it's geared to the moon.
Now take our car and compare to the S2000. The S2 has fd of 4.1 or something like that, which is much tighter, and it does very well against us on a track, even though we have the power-weight ratio advantage, torque band advantage.

My "I wish I had that" thought is for the bluetooth, oddly enough, and of course for the terrific new torque numbers.

Bluetooth in a car is the only 'safe' way to talk on the phone and drive. IMO My girlfriends mom has bluetooth in her maxima and its pretty cool. Hands free calls through the stereo!

The 07 Altima will be available with touchscreen navi, so it's only fair to assume that the 07 Z will have it as well.

You are judging my knowledge on the 5 extra horses by the following statement?

I said: "Only a 5hp bump at the crank? Very glad I didn't wait for the 07."

Are you concluding that if I knew more about the 5 extra horses that I would feel differently? 5 horses is 5 horses. Regardless of my knowledge, I would still be glad that I didn't wait. I have learned my lesson about buying first year engines, plus that ugly *** hood. No thanks.

This 5 horses at the crank is measured in terms of SAE, not the old school "basically write down whatever number you want" scale. If you look, almost all cars lost HP across the board, now that HP measurement is more standardized. Look at the STI, for instance, lost 7 hp. The infiniti sedan with this engine is pulling some pretty decent numbers (low 5 0-60) and I'm assuming the lighter Z will do better.

I don't think you'll be glad you didn't wait when the 07 Z's are on par (in stock trim at least) with EVO's and STI's.

I thought the 2007 G35c is not getting the new Engine and the Z is. I went to the International Car Show in New England and they had a 2007 g35c and the specs were the same as the 06.
