Pretty happy with my dyno #'s
So I joined the Z Club of Texas today to run my Z on the dyno out at Speed Works. Here are my results....
Note: I will try and scan the dyno sheets in on Monday
First off, I have a Performance model w/8300 miles on it. The only performance mod is a Earthing/Grounding kit. I did follow the break-in procedures up until 1200 miles. My three runs were done around noon with the temp about 60 degrees.

Max Power - 237.2 Max Torgue - 229.7
Max Power - 242.6 Max Torgue - 235.9
Max Power - 244.2 Max Torgue - 238.2
*by my calculations the last run comes out to a loss of 15% to the wheels.
Obviously I was very happy with the last run. I'm pretty sure that it was the best 350Z dyno numbers of the day even over some of the folks that had intakes on their cars. Also bestest the track model that dyno'd (HP - 243).
Now I have no idea really why my numbers were higher than others, but I'm not complaining.

I don't know if I trust the dyno over at SW anymore and here's why. A member dyno'd way back last year and got some pretty ****-poor numbers. Said member dynos again today and gets outstanding results.
I dyno'd a few weeks back and my best RWHP matches your first run EXACTLY, yet my TQ peak was 234.6 where yours was only 229.7. All of my HP/TQ numbers are within 3 points of one another, but your spreads are 7.5, 6.7 and 6. Not to mention the fact that you start with 237 RWHP and jump all of the way to 244 in a matter of minutes. My runs went 235, 236 and 237 with a three minute wait between runs. How long of a wait between each of your runs?
What did the other plots look like?

Well darn I thought I had the highest numbers...nonetheless I'm still happy with the numbers.
As for the time inbetween runs, I think it was around 3 minutes. I don't know for sure but thinking back that sounds about right.

I have a problem with those numbers because the spread is just too big at 7hp????? I could see 1 or 2 just due to margin of error, but 7???? There are only 2 possibilities; 1, the dyno has something wrong with it, or 2, your car does.
It’s not that unusual to see dyno numbers change a lot between pulls. As the tires heat up their diameter increases slightly. That will change the numbers. The engine compartment and subsequently the air intake changes. That will change the numbers.
And please don't forget that wonderful ECU that is always changing things. I tried to test my CAI by changing from the stock airbox to my open filter between pulls and the ECU detuned the engine, I guess because in thought it was running too lean.
There are too many variables to expect to see an exact horsepower or torque number from pull to pull. The best thing you can do when using a chassis dyno is to average your three numbers and use them as a baseline after you make modifications and do three more pulls.
It’s a different story when you have an engine dyno in a controlled environment or even a dyno that attaches to the hubs.

As far as others dynoing more than some with CAI's, I can assure you the car is pulling much better now after a few more miles. I'm absolutely certain that the ECU reset and driving straight to the dyno after 4 miles was a mistake.
I should have driven a bit more to let the ECU learn.....oh well. I'll head back after I install the Stillen exhaust next week.
BTW-We had almost identical #'s on the dyno, and I pulled from you pretty easily up top

those are pretty darn good dyno numbers.
my maxima dynoed a 10 WHP difference on back to back runs simply becuase we forgot to turn the fan on in front of the car for the first run....
7hp deviation on 3 runs isn't bad at all...

Keep in mind, when I dynoed in Sept at 1400 miles it was 97 degrees outside and most importantly, high humidity....hence the 233 RWHP
on Saturday it was 71 degrees outside and relativley low humidity.
Easily justifies the difference
