New 03 350Z or Slightly Used 02 NSX. . .
Ok, I don't know if this is a fair comparison, however I may have an opportunity next week to purchase a '02 NSX - T with 7000 on it for approx $65,000 OTD (This includes tax, lic, etc).
The vehicle is immaculate, no problems anywhere and I know the owner.
The question is, is the NSX worth twice as much as a 350Z? Sticker on the NSX is approx $90K, most dealer sell them for $80K and dealer net is $75K.
I would have to take the money I was saving for the 350Z and put that down as down payment and finance about $30K. So over 5-6 years its about $500-600 a month for the vehicle.
Assuming that I don't put on like 50K miles in the first year I could break even if I sold it after driving for a year.
Damm, I don't know what to do. Your thoughts folks.

Hrm, tough call. I've driven an NSX for longer than I've driven the Z. They are both great cars, just in different ways.
Here is the thing. If you buy an NSX you're going to WANT to have fun with it. The car begs for 8,000RPM redline on a regular basis. I'd have a hard time driving a $65,000 "status" car that way.
Have you considered picking up a good '93 or so NSX? A good one can be had for the same price as a Z. That way you wouldn't feel quite so concerned about driving the **** out of it.
Not to mention I think the old NSXes look more aggressive than the new facelift ones
Geez, you could even buy both of them if that was the case

The whole point behind buying the 350Z was so that I would not have to be in debt again. After years of paying off loans of all sorts, school, car, house, etc. I made a decision not to buy anything that would require me having to borrow money. I have been doing pretty good for the past 5 years with no loans or debt of any kind. Financially, I think I can swing it, no house payments, wife, kids (that I know of) , etc. It's a good feeling not to owe anyone money. It's just that the NSX is so damm tempting. Would anyone change their decision if the color of the NSX was New Formula Red with matching red leather interior?

Besides, the 350 is my first new car and I wanted to experience that.

Please do not compare a used car to a new car. There is nothing like a new car. Period.
As far as a used NSX goes - screw that. Dont get me wrong. NSX is an excellent car but used it is nothing special. I can think of a lot better/faster/more interestings used cars to get for 35K than the NSX.

ummmmmmmmmmmm, Like what?? (assuming someone doesn't want to go American, and NO turbos, ie-No Supras, RX-7, and Z32s TT). The ONLY thing I can think of that could be debatable is a older 993.

seeing that your main goal was to get a sports car BUT still keep you out of Debt, the 350Z maybe the PERFECT car. I have always wanted a Used 993 or NSX (like 8-10 years used to get down to 35K, as soon as the Z came out, the decision was made, I love it).
good luck, you can't make a wrong decision there. if $$ is NOT an issue, go NSX, if it is go 350.

Have you seen well-worn leather on a '95 and earlier NSX? LOOKS LIKE ****. Acura puts **** leather in their cars.

Seriously, if you had an extra 35K to spend for a used car, an NSX would your top choice? I guess everyone has their preferences.
Well since you severely cut down my list for faster/better how about more interesting (assuming it would not be a daily driver)?
Personally, a 308 or 328 would be on the top of my list. maybe an E-type or how about 1969 Espada?
Anyway, how did this get started again? lol
Oh yeah... DBZ definately go for the NSX
