whats that saying about the pot and kettle?

edit:

just so I say something on topic... if you are going to get involved with the Z community expect to take a lot of heat driving an auto so have some thick skin. Most people who drive standards get so used to it they don't even notice in traffic, so I wouldn't let that deter you from giving standard a try.

OH DAMN...you just got played, TK2005....hell naw!!

If you are taking it personally, that is your problem. Like I said, I don't care what you drive. I just find the way you chose your car to be a little weak.

Actually, I live in a nice quiet suburban upscale neighborhood that isn't overrun with Mexican Roaches...Can you say the same?

Nope...didn't think so!

Oh yeah...just because you're rocking that Wonderbread status, doesn't make you better than me..so PLEASE don't F*CK with me!

Was looking to buy a Z today, some idiot salesperson told me that most automatic Z's will be faster manual ones because most people can't shift properly.

WTF is he talking about?

Or is he just trying to be stupid? Like trying to sell me that car for $27,000 when on the internet, the same car was listed for 24,999.

I hate those kinds of dealers.

Well, he's probably right about that, that most people can't shift properly. Maybe wasn't wise to say so because so many guys figure their ability to shift manual effectively is equal to their manhood.

T'ain't so, y'all. Really. No correlation.

Again, just buy what you like. Want a manual, buy manual. Want an automatic, buy automatic. It's not that tough!

OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOES. You found out Fr3ak loves his wife. he must be so embarassed.... I didn't realize letting your wife have input on buying a car you and her will both drive was the same thing as letting her keep his nuts in her purse.

btw... i wasn't saying that b/c you missed her... I just made the generalization that since you can't think of what to do with yourself if she isn't around for 48 hours that she keeps a tight leash... same way you made generalizations about Fr3ak really... thus you calling anyone whipped doesn't have much weight imho.

Mexican roaches huh??? Must have been beaten up by Mexicans as a child to have that kind of feeling. No wonderbread here. I am Persian so I rock the pita bread.

You can try to rationalize it anyway you want but my wife doesn't make my decisions for me.

On Topic:
I've driven both I have a MT and drove a AT rental in city conditions (Miami). If you've had MTs all your life then definitely don't get an AT for the Z. Auto lets you cruise but you have no control over the RPMs. Also if you're cruising at say 45 mph Auto still keeps you in 4th gear which is a waste of gas IMO if you're just cruising.
I used the shift up and down for the auto and it's no where near the same as an MT. There's probably a half sec delay between everytime you want to shift up and when your tranny actually performs the shift.

I will say that when you're in regular auto mode the shifting is pretty smooth. But it reminds me more of being in a luxury car (some people want this) than being in a sports car (MT) where the driver has more control.
