Default Is automatic ok?

Im looking to buy a 350z but my question is, is there any difference between the manual and the automatic rather then the obvious because although i want a manual i found a good deal on an automatic 2003 what do you guys think is it worth it to go without the manual?

This is probably one of the most asked questions of the board. They are both the same performance wise, so get what you like.

not another 6 sp vs 5at thread! ive had a 6 sp and a 5at, and performance wise, they are very close. if the z didnt have the manual shifting option for the 5at, id say definately go for the 6mt, but with the manual shift mode, its actually pretty fun.

Personally, the transmission would be a deal breaker for me. I've made the mistake of getting an auto with my first car, and really would not make the mistake my first sports car (I'm 23). I suppose if you have had other sports car, then get an auto this time but I certainly won't do it.

After reading a lot of horror stories about 2003 6MT failing I would go with the Automatic... If you want a 6MT get a 2004 or newer...

Get whatever you feel most comfortable with. Besides, its YOUR car, not ours. YOUR making the payments, not us. YOU chose what YOU want.

That's okay, with A/T, my right hand is free to keep your GF/WF "happy" on the passenger seat . . .

some people are hardcore auto (like myself.) some people are hardcore manual. performance wise, the difference is negligeable. drive both and decide which one is right for you. do not let anyone on this forum or anywhere influence your decision. it is up to you.

in a polite voice: read about 20 threads down where i said the same thing to another thread that asked the same question.

Since you say you would rather have a manuel, hold out for it. Driving a stick is a large part of what makes it a sports car, don't sacrifice that to save a few bucks. Get what you want the first time, otherwise you'll be stuck wishing you had the stick.

I almost got the coupe instead of the roadster to save $4,000, and now I can't beleive I even considered it! Why blow this kind of money on a car and not get exactly what you want!
