Default Running over curb when parking

Today I was pulling into a parking spot and pulled a little too far to the point where the bumper scraped against the stop of the curve. I'm sure this has happened to many other people as well. It seems as if the black piece of plastic underneath the bumper is the thing being damaged.

My question is: do you think this causes any real damage to the car? Should I have it checked out? Should I be worried about anything other than the black piece of plastic underneath?

Thanks!

I have scraped mine a number of times, usually in a parking lot with curbs. cringe... I have looked under the car and there really isn't anything to damage other than what one can see on the chin spoiler or bumper.

check in the classifieds. There is a manufacturer from Ocean Isle (NC) of all places that makes and has pics of a front chin guard. It uses existing fasteners to anchor it down and doesn't look half bad. If I actually took mine out I would consider it, but I only drive mine on weekends.

I barely scraped the front lip spoiler once right after I got my Z...no real damage. But, as soon as I got back into my garage, I took my steel tape measure, extended it about 5 feet, put the case on the floor, and stood it up vertically, just touching the edge of the front bumper. I then got back in the seat. The front of the Z stuck out a little farther than I thought it did. Try it front and back. Haven't made that mistake again........

nothing under there, youd have to push your whole bumper back a few inches and take out the radiator, which I promise you did not do.

I did the same thing. but today I did something totally different. Damnnnnnn! THere was curb all the way on one side of my car, as I was backing out I turned to early and scraaaaappppeeeee, there goes a 5 inch scrape across the corner of my front bumper. Be careful out there. Hopefully I can get a DB bumper of someone replacing there's with a kit. I guess touch up will have to do for now.
