Talking New member, new question, good story.

hey bros. First post, thought it wouldn't be right to post before I was an official owner.

So I finally found the Z I was looking for. 2005 touring, black/burnt orange, with chrome rims. 11,000 miles. dealer was selling it for 26,500. Thought it was a great deal, so I flew out to pick it up in OK city yesterday, to drive it the long 9 hours home. When I finally arrived at the dealership after a grueling plane ride, I almost sh*t my pants when I found out he failed to mention it had the nav system. I was very happy with the price and the car is perfect. The dealer said they had a lot of new cars on the way and wanted to sell the Z quick. (it was on the market 3 days before I grabbed it) So, thought you guys might enjoy the story.

Anyway, I listen to loud music and like to feel the bass drum sink in my chest. Mostly rock, rap from time to time. Anyway, If I am listening to my music around the 17-23 volume range, what would be a good bass setting? I'm terrified of blowing my speakers, because new ones aren't really fitting in my budget for awhile. would +4 be too high? Do they blow easily? I blew them on my last car and it was a nightmare. Anyway, where do you guys keep your settings, bass and treble? Thanks for the help, and glad to be "offically" in the group.

Congratulations and welcome.

I set the bass and treble controls to zero. For some, the volume is not sufficient. Turning up the volume provides little help because the power is simply not there. For suggestions see the audio forum.

Here is what I found works well for the Bose system..

Normal music. Set the Bass to 0 treb to +2or3 and fader to the front +2. The peoples voices wont sound so deep.

Rap and R&B through the CD player. Bass to +3 Leave the treb at +2 or 3 and bring the Fader back to equal (0). You get good bump and can turn it up pretty loud without blowing the speakers... Depending on how deep the bass is in the song will tell you how loud to have it... you can usually tell because when its too loud the bass will actually start to sound bad or not feel like its hitting any harder... if you go that loud just step it back a step or two and you should be fine.

Thanks guys. I really appreciate the input. The car is better than I could have dreamed. I'm having a blast, and I look forward to getting to know this forums group. Thanks again.
