Why drag race with a 350Z? It's not very exciting and I hope your friend has learned that the short thrill of 14 seconds is not near the risk. An M3... I hope that he joins a car club or something so he get out to a track.

Okay to clearify everything.. the after pictures are pictures at a local police department (precint 111). The car was taken away from my friend (obviosly). That street in the background was not the street he raced on. It was on Francis Lewis Blvd. Not saying its no different but its a known street to race on. He didnt kill anyone, he hit parked cars. He paid for the Z and the 4 damaged cars. And yes he is driving a 04 m3 which i think is the most rediculous thing i ever heard. Here he is just recovered from a huge accident and is now driving a 04 m3.

You know how much problems he most likely caused, not for himself, but for others? Im 18 and my parents signed an 06 G35 6MT for me in april, but not once have I ever street raced. Only time I ever race is on the highway with clear traffic. Only an idiot is stupid enough to crash there
You have a very mature mentality for being 18. If only all 18 year olds thought that way...

I hope your friends are okay.

But on another note, I hate seeing these types of things because it brings down the image of the vehicle. The more street racing we have with our Z's, the more they are looked at as "rice".

I hope he didn't go through insurance. That's just one more incident that is going to contribute to f*cking things up for us all who actually want to keep our cars.
Don't make me say "Damn, my insurance!" again.

Whenever there is a police report, it will go thru insurance; no matter whether the insurance is paying for him or not

the dealership in the background looks like BAYSIDE BMW on northern BLVD by douglaston PKWY

Francis Lewis Blvd was notorous for racing back in the late 80's thru 90's. I know, I lived in Little Neck for almost all of my life. Cops there have since killed the cruising and race scene by having the traffic lights alternate between green and red so that noone can race. But thanks to stupidity like this I get followed by cop cars every goddam time i drive home to visit my parents. This street racing crap really needs to stop. He is fortunate that noone died. I have lost a few friends on Francis Lewis who were on motorcycles and got hit by speeding cars on that road.

doesn't alternate traffic lights make it more dangerous for racing?
1)More chances to run at red light
2)easier to have accident when race from 1 green light to red.
Once a street race wants to race, there's nothing you can do to stop them.

exactly... i will admit that i raced one last time on a 35 and got a ticket for double the limit...

looking back on it... which was only a few months ago... it is a terribly stupid thing to do... anyone doing that is putting not only their lives at risk but also the lives of several other people. IMO is IS NEVER worth it... that last night left such an impact that i still am refusing to race even on a legal strip...

at first i was always ready to hear a racing story but here lately i'd just rather ignore them and repeat that its F***ing stupid...
