Default Just wanted to share my excitment

Hey guys I've had my Z now for 6 weeks and I just hit 1200 miles! To celebrate I've made a few purchases. I've decided to go all Nismo and I think I got a great deal on everything.

Cat-back exhaust $850 (performance nissan)
CAI $259 (hawkinson nissan)
Headers $490 (ebay)

I'm having House of Performance here in Tampa do the headers. I just spoke to them and they quoted me only $250 for the install. As for thecat-back and cai I'm going to install them myself and I'll let evryone know how the install goes.

I do realize that my HP gains are not going to be exceptional. But what are some realistic gains that I'll see? Also does anyone out there have a similar setup? I'm anxious to see how loud this is going to be. I definately want more of a growl from the Z. But not so loud that I wake up the neighborhood, coming home late at night.

Hey, sounds awesome man! Any reason in particular why you decided to go Nismo, especially with the exhaust?

I couldn't resist the great GB that Brian at Performance Nissan was offering.

No, brand new in box. There was barely any action on this auction so I had to step in and try to get a deal. The seller had great correspondence, even sent me like eight pics.

Here's a link.

I like the exhaust choice, but considering that you will be under the car replacing the exhaust manifold and catalytic converters back, why not replace the OEM catalytic converters at the same time? You are spending $1,700 plus. The performance bottleneck is the catalytic converters.

Your absolutly right. And I've already decided to go with high flow cats and a 5/16 spacer for my next round of mods

Talking What's up B Dawg

Found you! What are the chances two college room mates end up buying the same car. Guess your loyalty to Nissan has rubbed off on me. I've got a JWT Popcharger intake along with the Nismo catback and my baby roars enough as it is.

Pass on that Nismo CAI-the tube is way too long your better with a stock air box or a pop charger. Congrats on getting started with modding...
