Oh and the GT-S has been on sale for some time in Switzerland, directly by the tuning company Novidem...

Please search, this really has been beat to death. Regardless of the date on THAT article, this is old news and what I said is accurate. This is not a car produced by Nissan. It's just a regular Z that some guys that happened to work at a Nissan dealership took and put a Strosek kit on it, boosted it and whatnot, and showed it. Some company liked it, decided to put together some and sell them there in the UK as turnkey tuner cars. Anyone can build this car themselves. It's getting press there, b/c UK doesn't really have an import tuner scene, I guess...

From what I hear they're actually pretty crazy over there running lil' Opels, Renaults, Cosworths, S/C Beemers etc... and then you start to get into the insane Audi/VW world
The Euro scene is where it's at

Exactly, but those cars aren't IMPORTS to them.

search
Help me figure this thing out:
Do I search 'GT-S' - that yields no results
Do I search 'supercharged 350z' - heh okay
Do I search 'GTS' - that's the same name as a Volk wheel
Back on topic - I find it interesting that it has the Strosek style front bumper. I wonder if Strosek is doing what Roush or Saleen does for Ford.

Sigh... The US does in fact get the Skylines now, and has since 2003. It is rebadged as an0 Infinity G35. It is the exact same car as we have here in Japan with less standard features that are made into options. I know as I drive a '06 Skyline GT350 (Infinity G35 Coupe).
Also, for all those people looking at buying an'08 Skyline GT-R, they won't exist. They are being called just GT-R with no Skyline badge as this interation is it's own style and not based off the Skyline model. I think the easiest way to explain The old Skyline GT-R's were just a performance version of a base style much like the Mitsu EVO is a performance version of the Lancer. In 1999, you could buy the Skyline GT, the Skyline GT-S or the Skyline GT-R with prices starting around $25,000 US for the GT and going to $70,000 US for the GTR.

Yeah, and from the gist of the article, it may not make its way to the US. That doesn't make sense since we are a much larger consumer base for Nissan. The Brits prefer the Audi TT over the Z by a large margin. I remember reading somewhere that more TTs get sold per person in the UK compared to any other country including Germany in the World.

That and some of the repair bills on my friend's S4 were pretty scary!

I don't know about all that, maybe TTs can be had for less mula since they just need to be sent a few hundred miles to the UK. Additionally from being stationed overseas, I've seen how European car manufacturers tend to sell lesser optioned vehicles in their region including smaller power plants since gas costs so much more per gallon there. Us Americans tend to be more spoiled actually on all the trim in the cars, ie. the power windows, climate control, built in DVD systems etc. I'm sure that is much more difficult to find on stock vehicles in Europe. There is aftermarket interest though.

Repesct the brits! They are certified enthusiasts.
I could point out many examples... Lotus, Noble, TVR of old, cars like the ariel atom... How about the Mclaren F1??? Jag XJ220 built by TWR...
I would say the brits more than anyone else are enthusiasts and prove it by constantly releasing limited run roadsters and proper sports cars.
I would say your comment is more suited toward the US than the UK
