I am in tune with your hypothesis, but the reciprocal mobility is a probable outcome due to the infiltrated reversal of sychronized gears in the flux capacitor causing backward mobility of the vehicle. Futhermore, time-phase unsychronization by 180 degrees is the true culprit of reciprocal mobility.....
Hmph, Ive had both 5AT and 6MT. When driving the same road within the same month, at the same speed with the CC on/full tank/bag of clothes I got maybe 3-4 more mpg in the 6MT. So the "all knowing" trip computer told me anyway
I'll believe my trip computer when it can accurately figure out how many miles to empty I have left.
Best part about my AT... While making a right or left turn, I can safely feel up my significant other's breasts without having to worry about shifting.

^+1 M/T drivers are missing an exciting & fun world out there. They think the right hand is for shifting . . . while us A/T drivers have better things to do to keep our right hand (fingers?) busy.
I'm talking about using your right hand to hold your cell phone, coffee mug, soda can, water bottle, etc. What do you think I'm talking about?
