Jay, just my humble opinion here, but I think you need to choose. I have been a member of many many car boards. Car boards are for the members and that's where your choice is. Are you for the members or are you for Nissan? Most car boards don't have a real head person like this one does, but the boards that I have seen like this in the past usually fail because the leaders always seem to get the "I am the King" syndrome. "I am the only one who deserves to be in the know." What good does it do the rest of the board if you are the only one who knows anything?? This is a great place. Please don't let that happen here.

First of all in Jman's defense, this is NOT a public forum, you have to register to post, and can be banned.
its like coming to a party in someones house, even if you bring some chips and maybe a casarole, you have no right to do something your host disagrees with.
plus basically all you're being asked to do is be patient, and not act like children.
daddy are we there yet?

come on guys, take it easy on J.
he is just doing what he was told. i am sure if he wasnt told to do that, he wouldnt. I am sure everyone at NNA is working hard to get our cars to us asap. All this fuss will just cause problems.
everytime something new came up, either J or ZISME were nice enough to post it on the site, as i am sure they will continue to do so. Just sometimes you have to do what you have to do, and in this case, not to call NNA. just give it a break for a bit, i am sure J and ZISME will keep us posted, like usual. just my thoughts. (and no, i dont want anybodys opinion, like i did on my "z problems" thread, haha, id rather not get smached, LOL)
now, if i can get ZISME to answer my previous post about my package, that would be great..

This thread has so many possible ways it can be taken, but at the bottom, it boils down to this:
You put a deposit on a car so you would get that car when it arrives at the dealer location. You are not buying these cars from Nissan, you are buying them from your dealer who is buying them from Nissan and then reselling them to you.
Last time I went to the video store, the clerk tried to hit me up for a deposit or pre-order for Lord of the Rings. I put down my $5.00 but you know what? I think I'll just cut to the chase and call Warner Bros. and see if I can't see where my specific copy is.
I say that as a joke, but I think it sort of gets my point across. Obviously the difference between a movie and a car is the arrival date (usually set for movies) as well as cost.
You bought a car from a dealer, not Nissan. Call the dealer, heck, camp on their lawns if it gets your answers faster but calling NNA HQ doesn't help things. It's simple yet nobody seems to grasp it. Why is that?
Maybe because as a consumer, we feel we should get our way all the time? Customer Service is there to help people, no question... but are we calling them? No, we're going around it all and phoning the regional offices.
To be fair though, if Nissan has issue with people calling those numbers, they shouldn't have them listed on their website. So I do agree with you guys that the info is out there, so what's the big deal? I am just saying it has become a big deal so if we slowed down or stopped calling, it'd help. At least, this is what I was told. I was asked to try and prevent phone numbers from getting on my350z.com and if makes the cars get here quicker, I don't see the harm.
Sorry I've pissed of some of you with this. It seems I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't. heh.. Nissan doesn't have anything on me so technically there is no reason to remove phone numbers, I'm just doing a favor for the guys making our cars.
Someone pointed out though, and I think they hit the nail right on the head.... this is just the latest in the Pre Car madness... wonder what's next?
Most of the pre-orders were told Sept/Oct for delivery. It's July 11th. What part of Sept/Oct don't I understand if I need to call them today, tomorrow or next week?
You put the money down, that was your job. Now please let Nissan do their job and get you the car in the alloted time frame.
I'm done on this topic by the way, people are going to do whatever it is they wish, so what's the point in arguing over it?
Disagree with what I have done, agree with what I have done, either way, your call.
I hope you all have a great weekend, it got up to 104 here in Spokane, Washington today which is way abnormal for this far North. Supposed to hit 107-110 area tomorrow (Friday).

I know that sounds bad, and you're right... some things don't always make sense. Heck, even I don't see the logic in banning phone numbers here that are on Nissan's frickin' site. Ah well, whatever works I guess.

This is a 350Z enthusiast board, it is here for everyone and yes, that also includes Nissan or the dealers that sell Nissan products. I am not going to allow this board to be turned into some little ***** and whine fest where we cry out every time we don't get our way. I understand being frustrated or even down right mad when we're told a date and then it gets pushed back. We all want our cars, believe me, I feel the pain on this one but exactly how does getting several people worked into a frenzy, calling the car company and not the dealers get our cars here faster?
You lost me on the "What good does it do the rest of the board if you are the only one who knows anything?? " part though. I have always posted everything I know, usually as I know it. The exception being that darn July 3rd embargo that all media was told to respect.
Otherwise though, I don't keep secrets, and I am more than sure many of you will agree on that.

I'm really not asking you to defend your actions, J, in fact I already know the response is to try and be nice to Nissan.
But... if they expect us to be "nice", then why aren't they trying to be nice to us and at least supply us with basic updates?
And no, I'm not talking webcams in the factory, I'm talking a simple 2-line generic email that says "Hey, we know we said August before, but it looks like September now. Hang in there, we appreciate your business."
I personally haven't called NNA, but you really can't blame those that have...

Look, regarding calls Nissan has asked us to KNOCK IT OFF.
So how about we relax a little, act like adults and
KNOCK IT OFF!
Nissan has done a great job! They've created a car that everybody is freaking out about not having every detail of delivery. The information is that the cars will be delivered probably starting in September, maybe as early as August: but you know what? Its July now. All the calls to Nissan in the world won't change the time-space continuum.
