Performance Trim Z Owners Any Problems?
Watch for a grind while shifting into 3rd gear. Watch for grease streaks on the windows. Watch for tire feathering on the inside edge of the front tires. Watch for alignment problems - pulls to right. Some have experienced those and other problems. Try a few searches to find out more.

10500 miles:
Problems that don't annoy me:
1. Tiny bit of grease on windows, but don't ever notice except when cleaning car.
2. Slight "bump/clunk" when going into second gear when cold.
Ploblems that do annoy me:
1. Rattles!!!! Rattles all over!!!! They are not loud rattles, but every day it seems there is another, and I seem to be some kind of freak that gets truly annoyed by them. I really have about 5: rear view mirror, passenger visor (can probably get these fixed), something in driver door when window is down, something in center of dash, something in back maybe behind passenger seat/suspension brace. Since I don't know where the last three are coming from, I don't really know what to do about them. I don't want to take the car to the dealer and have them tear it apart only to cause 5 more rattles. My current solution is to drive with the radio or CD on or the window down and then I don't hear them.
2. Drivers seat with play (can probably get replacement pretty easily - but haven't bothered yet).
I really love the car, but just wish the roads around here were a bit smoother so I wouldn't have so many rattles. Eh, I guess by the time I have 60000 miles I won't really care anymore, I hope.

Damn them window streaks! lol, they are slowly getting less overtime though. Other than that, occasional notchy 2nd gear when cold, and a rattle from the third brake light that dissappeared after tapping it a couple times.

When the car is being built and shipped the dealer should be able to find the VIN of your car on one of his reports. But, if you haven't received your Z yet, the VIN is going to be a lot higher than some of the ones experiencing problems now. Instead of the last 5 numbers being something like 02345 or 03456, your VIN will end with something like 12345. My point in asking is that, if you have a later production model, then it may have had some of the early problems corrected already. That's all.
