I need you help guys.......
Hey guys,
I've had my 2003 Touring A/T Z now for about 1 year. It had 21,000 miles on it, and I truly do love the car. But, now for some reason I am getting mixed emotions. I am only 19 years old, the car is in my parents name, but I payed the down payment and I pay all the payments. I still am truly thankful to my parents though, because I would of never been able to be qualified for this loan, and even though I pay for it, I couldn't of done it without them.
Well, anyway, lately I have developed some new found fascination with the EVO 8. I know the Z blows it out in style, but I just want one so bad. I think part of it is that I really wish my Z was M/T, even though I am in denial about it.
Anybody else go though a stage where they want an EVO? I don't know guys, I just need some advice. Thanks for listening.

never wanted an evo since i've had my Z ! this is probably not gonna be your last car so enjoy it for now, and later when the kids come into the picture get yourself a 4-door car (evo/sti). there aren't many people other that can actually get away with owning a 2-seater, due to practicallity....enjoy

wow this is the 2nd thread in a week of a guy wanting an evo over a Z. dude, just to let you know, the insurance is going to suck for you bad seeing you are so young. the evo is ranked #1 for highest insurance rates. i would just pay off the Z and trade it in later if you really want a Z. for more evo information, go to www.evolutionm.net

Are your friends giving you crap because you drive a automatic sports car? Hell, when I was 19 I would of given my left testicale to have a car as cool as the Z (even if it was a automatic), instead I had to drive a 1985 prelude (110 HP) with 70k miles on it...

yeah I have an 06 base coupe, MT...im 18 lol but yeah i was wantin an EVO 9 MR or an STi before i decided on the Z....mainly because the Z is sexier...doesnt have that ricer look...and because the insurance isnt as bad...Evo's are a hell of alot faster tho...theyd be more fun on twisties & such...but you can make a Z just as fast...instake, exhaust, tires & suspension....trade up to a new Z or get an STi....Evolutions are Mitsubishi's afterall...id NEVER buy a used mitsubishi....iunno if id buy a new mitsu to tell you the truth, hope this helps
when i first got the Z about 2 years ago i really wanted a M3 but the guys at the BMW dealership were diks so i went n got the Z...overall i think i made the right decision...even tho Nissan service sux (id rather drive a Z then be a ******* in a BMW)
sorry to tell you this, but since the car is in your parents name they are going to get the credit for it. Your credit wont be any better after all this. You should've had them as a co-signer. Chances are if you get an EVO you will need them to put their name down again.

<<--wants a z
Being that it wasn't that long ago that I was 19, I personally believe that you want the Evo because you want to conform. I'd imagine that with the people you most likely hang out with, the EVO is considered to be a "dream car," whereas the Z is probably not mentioned much. So, being that you probably want to be seen as more cool amongst the people you know, you are wanting an EVO.
I could be 100% wrong about that, but IMO that is what is going on.
I've never driven an Evo, but I've seen plenty and sat in a few. I hate the way they look, the interior feels like I'm sitting in a Tercel, and it is just generally uncomfortable. To me, the Evo is just an econobox with AWD and a turbo strapped on it. At its heart, its still just a lancer.

whenever me and my friends get into conversations about cars they always turn to the evo being "faster better etc..."
You definitely should have gotten the 6 speed MT instead of the AT...Can you not drive a MT or did the parents decide on the AT for you??
I honestly do NOT understand why the f*ck everybody gets a f*cking boner over the damn ugly *** EVO
