So if your girlfriend is about to give you a hummer do you tell her to stop because the Z is getting lonely?

Personally I'd MUCH rather replace a windshield or window, which is covered no questions asked by your insurance company, the glass people will usually come to u as well... then have to deal with forking over big loot for fixing a key job, especially one that stretches over multiple panels.. or risk ur insurance premiums going up due to a costly vandalism claim.

Probably wouldn't leave a note w/ ur handwriting that says what kind of car u drive at the scene.

Just realized ur whole post was probably sarcastic.. in which case don't mind me. The brick/rock vs. key vandalism preference is an interesting debate though lol

man, i agree with the majority of ppl that posted here. i worship my car and i'd be d*mned if anything happens to it. i also park far away and i park where my car can be seen at night, such as under a light post. i also don't valet my car because i refuse to let anyone else drive it except me. i got a ding when i first got the car but i took it to dent wizards and they got it right out. after that, i got a daily driver so the z stays garaged except for the weekends anyways.

i never thought about the license plate idea....but how would you get information from a license plate anyways? is there some type of database that can look up information off of a license plate number? i know police have something but what information can the general public obtain from a license plate number?

Are we talking about a Ferrari here or a Nissan?

I dont think it's stressful, you're just really paranoid. I sorta noticed that with some 06 owners, not to bring down the Z (i have one) but when u park at the mall they're way more expensive cars parked in the mix. you'll see 50-100k cars parked right next to a Kia rio. It's just a car fellas dont let it control your life. If you're at your ladies pad you shouldnt be worried about your z parked outside, unless your in compton.

I stress out about every car I've had. The Z doesn't stress me out any more or less than any of the others.

Yeah, i definitely circle car parks for longer looking for 'safe' parks. I worry about my baby being keyed when i should really be shouting at other drivers and laying the SMACK DOWN. I show signs of stress when i get back to the car and there are two SUV's or sh!tboxes parked an inch from either side....

I sit near windows at restaurants when i drive the z, just cuz i want to stare at the beast. I do park further than usual. It burns extra calories. Also whenever i feel anytype of stress i just drive it off to take my mind off things.

I totally understand your feelings dkorr. My mom drives my old Civic now and when I take that car out from time to time I don't have to stress like when I drive my Z. Sometimes the attention isn't fun.

You need to get a gf that lives in a better neighborhood or get her to move if her area is that bad. I don't even think about the car when I'm at her house.

I think it's very important to have a 2nd beater car when owning a Z.

meetjoeasian - I'm glad they got what they deserved although I wouldn't go that far.

it is stressful. i nearly sh-t my pants last week when i saw 2 drug addicts shootin up right behind my Z, and 3 cops on bikes in the process of arresting them. i park in a very shady part of downtown. cant affod to pay $12 every day for parking. so the Z will bare the risks. as we speak, my baby is sitting out there under the bridge parking lot, exposed. now i know how it feels to be a dad of a cute teenage daughter.

at ur comment, not at your ding.

i think there are things we can actively do to help reduce damage inflicted to our cars. i'm sure we all want our cars to live long.

here's what i think i'll do to REDUCE trauma to my Z's paint...

-park next to remote concrete 'islands' when parked at target/walmart/malls
-when renting a place, ask for 'secured, underground garage'
-spend more time in the suburbs (parking lots/streets tend to be narrower in downtown)
-fold my mirrors when parked for extended period (that tell other drivers your car doesnt want to be touched)
-park next to 4 door cars (coupes have longer doors, and swing farther)

Yeah I'd also like to know how to look up info with plate numbers without resorting to cops or DMV. I can recall numerous situations(door dings, parking lot fender bender hit 'n run, road rage) where it could have come in real handy.
