I got my 06 GT Z to be my daily driver so my heavily modded C5 can be my weekender and stay out of the rain. It took the place of an 04 Is300. NOTHING wrong with the Lexus at all--it is really put together. I just wanted the Z----look at it!!! It is nice stock and if that's not good enough there is a HUGE aftermarket for it.
Any car can give you problems no matter how much it is or who made it. I had a brand new 92' Z24 as my first car when I turned 16--NO problems whatsoever for 135k when I traded it in 7 years later after graduating college. The only time I have ever had a problem out of a car is when I bought a used Tahoe--which has been replaced with a Lexus sport ute.
