Default losing hp

since the first day i got my car till now which was 2 months..but really 1 since it was in the body shop for a month (search my name an read the story behind the car crash) it feels like ive lost hp..not a great ammount but a noticeable ammount. although i learned to drive stick shift on the Z it feels like all those times i stalled (maybe 10-15) and times i didnt rev match an made my car pull (maybe like 4-6 times,..i was a noob dont flame please) feels like it all caught up an messed up my engine or whatever...dont get me wrong..the cars fasstt but it seemed faster when i first got it..like the other day i was crusing with a friend (who drives a stock 06' tiburon) on he freeway going 70 ish an we were both in 4th gear an then we both gunned it an we were even till around 80-85 ish..but i dont really know..probably lost some power probably didnt but im becoming paranoid

Yeah if you don't rev match it makes you loose serious hp. Seriously though I think it's all in your head. What gear were you in when you raced the tiburon, 4th? My god what do you expect to do going 70 in 4th, fly away from him, I"m suprised he didn't get a jump on you. Sounds like your loss in hp might be lack of driving skills.

your clutch might be slipping since you are learning how to drive stick with your z and you burned the clutch. that will cause you to lose power.

70ish? You should have been in third gear for a highway roll. Not surprising he stuck with you until finally reached your powerband. Around 88mph is when you would normally be shifting into 4th.

Considering you're also new to manuals, you havent been doing your clutch any favors. After you totally get the hang of what youre doing (get it all out of your system now), you should think about replacing your flywheel and clutch, especially with a lightweight aftermarket combo. Or at least plan on it sometime in the future, because your clutch probably won't last a long time.

+1. I know a lightweight flywheel is in my future. I cant stand the stock one. It takes FOREVER for the revs to drop when shifting.

Yeah, you should've been in 3rd gear going at 70mph. No wonder you think your car is slow.

Like others mentioned, seems like your clutch is worn out, making you to lose power.
