How many miles with conventional oil should I put my new (399 miles) 05 Z before switching to Synthetic.

Actually I thought I read somewhere either on this forum or .....wherevere it was it said that we should not use synthetic oil. But who listens to that. I have always used Mobil 1 and will probably be switching to that when I get my first oil change.

 

Nissan told me to switch over to synthetic only after 10k miles. I use Mobil 1, they actually recommend it, but I've always used it in my other cars anyways.

Why wait?

 

Conventional oil, I'd say after 2,000 mi's to be safe (basically next oil change). I've used castrol syntech since I've got it. change every 7,000 mi's. Has worked fine for me so far.

Won't hurt to change it asap.

 

gosh u can use conventional oil for as long as you want to. but what i did was switch at 9k....

 

im switching my new o6 to synthetic around 8-10,000

 

I've always used Mobile 1

I did it at 12k to Amsoil, so far so good

 

I use ELF synthetic

 

I did mine w/ Mobil 1 after first oil change at 1200 mile break in. 27,000miles now, no problems.

 

Castrol Synthetic since I bought it-10,000 miles

 

changed to synth arounf 7500

 

My first oil change on my '06 (3100 miles) was Royal Purple.

 

When I got my Z and researched it, I was instructed to switch over to synthetic at the second oil change.

 

Changed to Mobile 1 at the first oil change (3000mi).

 

Changed to Mobile 1 at the first oil change (2000 mi).
