I recently had the Strup Headers and Test pipes put on along with the Unorthodox Racing Crank and water pump pulley set. About 2 months into the mods beign put on my oil light came on. Come to find out the car is burning oil pretty good, about a quart every 500 miles. There is a distinct oil smell to the exhaust and the car runs like crap at times. I was going to take the pulleys off and try to take it up to the dealer to see if they could stop it from burning the oil.
Has anyone else had this problem with headers/test pipes and pulleys?
Just wanted to get some ideas of what it could be and if the headers and test pipes could be the cause.
Need as much ammo/info to counter anything the dealership might say the headers and test pipes could be doing to cause the enging to burn oil.

Ive only heard that the cat deletes allows oil to flow out the exhaust instead of getting gummed up in the cats, so it becomes more obvious afterwords.
Cranks however, leak oil if installed improperley.

I think you can just see it cause the cats act like a filter. There was a sentra SER at the dealership which was leaking oil but teh guy didnt know cause the cat was blocking it all. Eventually the cat got clogged and his car wouldnt start up.
i have test pipes and i know i dont burn oil that fast. I burn it slowly, maybe half a quart every 4k miles. All engines burn oil. If you didn't break the car in properly, you're probably mroe likely to burn more oil.

Sometimes we do mods, notice problems, and the problems are unrelated to the mods. External mods such as headers and test pipes do not cause a motor to burn oil. Most likely the problem is a worn valve guide or piston ring.
