After being relocated from California to Colorado, I now wish I had purchased the Enthusiast or better so I'd have Traction Control in the #%*!@ snow! Even after purchasing All Season KDW's the ***** slides around like there's no tomorrow. Oh yeah, and the dealer says "NO CHAINS". Guess I need to drop some $$$ to buy a little POS front wheeler for those ugly days when the white starts to fall.

Suggestion for all: Get a detector of some make/model. My Valentine1 has saved my a$$ several times.

Did I mention that my insurance has more than doubled!

I wish I knew the Z didn't have a rear hatch release button. Not being able to open the hatch from inside can be annoying at times.

Uh, DestinyZ, you can learn to drive a stick. You going to ZDayZ this year? Due to work I can't make it, but I bet you could get someone to take a few minutes & teach you the skills of the clutch. Once you get the idea, you'll be trading that AT in for a MT no doubt!'

Take the key out, hit the hatch-release button on the remote fob. Not perfect, but workable.

I wish I knew the Bose system sux, heated/powered/leather seats are super heavy and VDC is absolutely useless. I got the Touring.. I so should've gotten the Enth trim. That way I could just dump out the cheap sound system instead of an expensive bose system, dump some cheap cloth seats for a set of Brides, and save tons of money on that stupid VDC that I just end up turning off every morning.

I disagree that VDC is useless. It keeps you from accidentally sliding your tail into the car in the next lane when trying to do something "adventurous" in traffic, especially when the road is wet.

It also keeps people that I have let drive the Z out of trouble. I rely on VDC to protect her if my wife should ever need to drive it in an emergency.

When I'm driving the Z aggressively (like on track) I turn off the VDC. I like the fact that turning it off is a conscious choice.

This thread makes it seem like had you guys known these things about the car you would have not bought it, which i'm sure is not true for most of you. For me, I wish I had known about this site so I could avoid it lol. Now I'm addicted and am on here all the time.

It's a damned expensive car to own (for those normal guys like us that don't have a Porche as a matter of course). I must admit, I can't really afford it, but I am addicted. Every time I drive it, I think "I love this car!".

If you read my post again, I said I'd rather get an enthu model instead of the the Touring. I think the TCS is enough. The VDC is an overkill and it kicks in at random places.

I wish I had known that the limited storage issue was not nearly as big a thing as I thought it would be. I wouldn't have stalled for 5 months debating the G35 vs Z before ordering the Z.
BTW, I now have 18,000 miles on my '06 and oil consumption went from about 1 qt/2000mi. in the 2nd month, to about 1 qt/6000mi. now which I can handle. It has been a cold winter and I don't know if that has made a difference. Never had a single rattle and rock chips in the paint have not been a problem yet even with the snow and sand on the roads. Is the '06 paint a different type?

My Z just sucks money out of my wallet so much, I shouldn't have bought it at the first place! It was my mistake walking into the dealership...
But it's ok..it's like havin' a high maintenance girlfriend... and she never says 'no'. I just forget about the whole mean world when she screams for me everytime when I 'turn her on'..

Or better yet keep the key in the ignition and just hit the hatch release. For the amount the Z cost they should have put in a feakin hatch release. What would happen if the key fob battery dies while you are dropping/picking someone up at the airport? You would have to get off at the white zone and open it manually yourself. Would it have really cost Nissan that much more in R&D money to put one in?

Ah you know there is a rubberized release button above the license plate right?

As long as the doors are unlocked you can pop the trunk that way. No difference once you see that. Only thing is if you are picking someone up at the airport or something ... They wouldn't know where to look. I would never let anyone load the back of my Z anyways so.... It's not an issue for me.

You let people drive your Z

Inside hatch release would be useful. At my job they check the rear storage when you leave.

Wow 3 posts in one day, now if only I can think of an original thread
