What I meant was, can you tell when it starts happening in order to prevent the tire being ruined. But I guess you just have to keep checking.

Zcoupe, you clearly have not. Z's, especially older 03-04 models, much like mine, suffer from some bad transmissions, much like mine did, and they will grind a gear or two for no reason, much like mine did. Nissan realized this problem and will replace the tranny at not cost, much like they did for me, and about 1000 other people on this forum alone. Go to the repair section, and see the many "sticky's" already made for this car.
thanks! mine is an 05. Don't seem to have any problems

wish i knew how impossible it is to see anything out the rearview at night b/c of tint and how tiny the back window is...
well, i did know about how hot the drivers side feet-area [footwell?] gets...but i wish it didnt, lol..
wish i knew i can't go up my driveway w/o scraping under the front bumper...i park on the street but to wash it i need to take it up...it's not even a steep driveway but it first slopes down from the street, i think that's the problem........and the whole 'go in at an angle' thing is impossible as its a narrow driveway with walls on both sides, and a very narrow street at that.
anyone else with this problem? solutions?

How many problems I've read on them. It really pisses me off that I pay over $30,000 to have oil comsuptions issues. I really wish I never got rid of My Mazdaspeed MX-5

+1 on the oil. There is no excuse. I would assume they tried to address this with the HR, so I also wish I knew about that when I bought the 06. Of course, if you play the game of waiting for the next year so you do not miss anything, then you would never get the car

Nissan must be in bed with the oil folks.

To answer a few of these from a long-time owner;

Tire problems are only the stock Bridgestone RE040's. Buy some Falken's or Kumho's. I suggest changing the front 225-45-18s to 245-40-18 to eliminate understeer. The computer won't complain since the circumference is the same.

If you're buying your car new, the clearbra is a very good idea. My front clip looks like it has been sandblasted.

Some people have had legitimate transmission grinding problems, but my experience is that mine are all caused by a lazy clutch foot.

My tranny is only notchy when I try to treat it gently. When I'm shifting with enthusiasm, it's as smooth as silk. BTW: I have Royal Purple Max-Gear in it.

I think the dash rattle is really in the rear-view mirror wire cover. There's an NTB but it doesn't fix the problem.

There's an NTB for the rear axle ticking. Take it to the dealer; they'll torque down the bolts & all will be fixed.

The lack of visibility out the rear window is irrelevant if you're going faster than those around you. AOP: Accelerate Out of Problems

See you at ZDayZ!

I wish that I could have seen into the future. Then I could see all the problems that would arise due to the fact that this car was an excellent idea but excercised half azzed and rushed to the market by Nissan.

I wish I knew what a POS this car is and how crappy NNA is so that I never bought it.

My driver window won't roll up or down.

My passenger window rolls down every time I open the door, so after two or three times opening it the window has rolled down all the way.

Front brakes squeeeeeek.

Tire feathering still after 2 alignments by stealership so car sounds like 4X4 going down road.

5AT sucks as bad as 6MT. Tranny shifts out of gear randomly.

Blose is waste of money.

I have heard of these problems but never experienced any. If you hate it, sell it! Make the dealership (who knows you've had trouble) give you a good trade-in.

Knee-pads. Or the manufactured date on the sticker inside the driver's door.

i wish i knew how addictive the modding would be.
I sometimes wish i wasn't at high elevation so i could TT it and REALLY feel the speed instead of the "safer stillen s\c"
...but hey, it'll make me save up for my dream car, viper coupe ^_^

It seems like everyone that's having problems is with an 03-04 model. I have the 06 Touring A/T(wanted some extra bells whistles)and love everything about it except maybe the paint(needs clear bra, clear coat, something!)I have the 7speaker bose and added 2 JLw6's with over 1500watts and still doesn't rattle that bad. Take the panels off and add dyno mat if you guys have rattle problems. Again, just make sure you do your research, then research some more. Any car will have something you don't like since everyone wants something different. Then mod it to the gills how you want things. It's definitely has an AMAZING foundation to start with!
