man **** a rustang!

 

I actually was considering a used SLK32 with 10K on it when I bought my Z. Didn't get the Merc because it was an automatic and I kept thinking, "yeah, it's got 349HP, but it's still a chick car".

 

fairladyZ tags are a tribute to its heritage, not a ploy for nancy boys-unless u are one and associate it that way.

I had an '87 Fiero GT with the 2.8 L V6 and 135 HP...My first sportscar. When it ran well (about 50% of the time), it did feel somewhat fast, due to the fiberglass body panels.

But Pontiac screwed up on SO many levels with the Fiero, it was a crime.

Shove a V6 in an engine bay designed for a 4 banger = almost constant overheating issues + 1 Rebuilt Engine..that threw a rod afterwards

Horrible Tranny...much worse than ANYTHING a Z owner has EVER experienced.

The ONLY saving grace in that car was the fact that I got it in an Automatic, cuz GM truly sucks at making a MT (I knew how to drive an MT back in '87, cuz I learned on an '80 Datsun B-210 with MT).

Who the hell wants to reach UP and shift a MT with your arm bent at a 45 degree angle....AND have a shift indicator light that constantly goes on alerting you to the "optimal shift points"? WTF??

Oddly enough, my NEXT mid-engine car was a '93 MR2 with 2.2 L 4 banger with the exact same 135 HP rating. Strange that GM couldn't pump out more than 135 HP from a 2.8L V6.

 

I never said that the Fiero was free of flaws. My car never had an overheating issue considering that I pay attention to my fluid levels. The only time it did have an overheating issue was when the water pump went out at 86k. That was a ***** to replace. Considering that the engine was positioned with the pulleys and the pump on the right side of the engine bay.

As for othe 135hp, remember this was the mid to late 80's. Nothing in any domestic manufacturer came close to 200hp unless it was a truck or a huge *** car. Everything was economy. Hell, even the Dodge Daytona Turbo Z had in 86 had only 146hp and was heavier than the Fiero. The Vette at the time had about 225 - 245 hp. So put it all in perspective. The car was pretty light and powerful for it's time.

 

One of these days, I'm gonna get an immaculate '88 Fiero GT. I wanted one so bad in high school.

 

Z is not a chick's car.
Here in LA I see LOTS of chicks with the new Mustangs.

 

They are shoving V8 northstar and L67 supercharged V6 engines in those things. If you get the later models they have the Lotus suspension. But most ricers still think a Honda is still a better platform than that.

 

if its a new 06 GT you could still beat him stock in anything but a straight line.

FYI my FEMALE roommate drives a mustang.... and I drive the Z.

other telltale signs are xm/sirius antenna on roof, 5AT touring trim, also like you mentioned the barcode stickers.

but these arent exotic rental companies.. they're rented by hertz

Not ALL Mustang owners are asshats. I could think of several Z and G owners that I met that are worse than Mustang owners.

But for the most part I have to agree with you. Damn Mustang drivers!

I heard that the new V6 Mustang with an manual is actually pretty quick for what it is. Mid 6's 0-60.

 

I find it hilarious how we had a thread called "Freaking Mustang Drivers!" then a thread about someone who wants to trade his Z for a Mustang.

 

350z and the G35's have both become chick cars, sorry to tell ya boys.

Everyone has jokes about the Mustang, but truth be told the mustang just does EVERYTHING better than the 350..
1- looks better
2- faster in a drag race
3- handle better than a Z
4- more refined interior
5- more HP out of modding
6- MEN ACTUALLY DRIVE MUSTANG GT'S (and chick love to been seen in the passanger seat where they belong in our cars...

So what are your jokes here? Fords break down alot?
Oh wait.. i know 3 people that have 350z's and g35's.. all of whom have been in the shop atleast 2 times a year yet most of our cars still haven't seen the shop once for anything but an oil change.

Damnit now yall got the cousinfukers coming over here....Its funny that the only people that have ever said that to me were Mustang guys. I got nothing against the car..Love the Saleen bodykit for it...But for some reason the car just seems to attract neanderthals.....They consider anything Japanese a girls car....

I remember one time at the track a 98 Mustang guy told an Integra Type R[modded] owner that he should sell his car to his girlfriend and get a real mans car with some torque......They lined up and the Integra raped his ***....He didnt want to talk about torque after that for some reason...Even his boys were clowning him..lol
