If you think the Z sucks so much, why do you have one? Why not just sell it and drive the mustang all the time? I didn't really want to even bother with this ridiculous thread, but that's is just blatent contradiction.

Some people think the mustang is ugly, some mustang people think the Z is ugly, blah blah blah, this thread can go on forever but I really hope it doesn't. I read these posts because it's interesting to see what people have to say...but geez, no need to be so angry about what some person that you don't know writes on a forum.

I like my Z, and as with all the other decisions I've made in my life, I couldn't care less about what anyone has to say about it. I would hope that some of you could be the same way, your lives would be less stressful.

Hey as a former Z owner and a current GT owner, I can vouch for the Z being more agile, but of course it depends on the driver as well. Both cars are capable(in stock trim) of .90g(the Z a bit more, maybe), but in a straight line....guys, I hate to say, but my GT is a much faster car. Torque rules, maybe the '07 Z with 306 hp can compete.....I just took my stock 600 mile GT to the track and proceeded to run a 13.54@104! Of course this is a
corrected(for altitude) time, but $H1T...that's FAST for a stock 300hp car. I've always heard Ford under rates their cars(some litigation thing a few years back). I loved my Z(and NO it isn't a chick car, and YES a V-6 'Stang is a chick car!), but I've just caught muscle car fever....please forgive me

I see a lot of women driving mustangs, but none driving 05+ GT's. I see plenty of women driving 350Z's. My wife is scared to drive my 06 GT, that's what 320+ ft. lbs of torque will do for you. Once I add that saleen S/C for under $5k she will never want to drive it again and i'll have a $30k muscle car with over 400 rwhp. The Z's look nice and i'm sure they handle great, but they don't come with 40 years of American heritage.

I have them both one 06' 350Z with corner set up and other 03' Cobra 324cu.in with SC & Nitrous with full drag set up.

If mustang guys tell me, my 350Z slow or chick car. I will tell him wait for me, i'll be back with a fast car or real man car.

Or if 350Z guys tell me, my mustang can't handle like ****. I will tell him wait for me, i'll be back with a car can cut you off in the corner.

They're different purpose so DO NOT compare.

Look, the 350z isn't a bad car by any means.. But talk is cheap and everyone knows it. I'm mearly defending the 3 pages of Mustang Bashing that went on before my post, so if you can't take 1 paragraph of rebuttle.. i don't know what to tell you.

All i'm saying is that you guys apparently think that the 350z can out handle the mustang hands down right? I'm surgesting we get together and put the man behind the seat... and see who comes out on top. btw.. watch this video..

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=104196

BTW.. list of cars previously owned so you don't think i'm some hard core mustang fan.. InFact the fastest car i've ever had was my Japanese Eclipse (heavily Modified)

- 89 Chrysler Conquest TSI
- 91 Eagle Talso TSI
- 97 Mutsubishi Eclipse
- 87 Chevy Camaro
- 03 Honda Accord
- 95 Buick Riviera
- 99 Chevy Corvette
- 97 Dodge Neon
- 01 Ford Taurus
- 06 Honda Accord
- 06 Ford Explorer
- Now an 06 Stang

This is retarded. 350z vs mustang in a straight line is a driver's race with the mustang on top all things being equal. In the twisties, it's still a drivers race with the Z coming out on top all things being equal.

They're both great cars, and if you're not insecure you wont care if some idiot calls your car (be it a mustang, a Z or even a miata) a chick car.

Mustang owners are generally budweiser drinking nascar fans. They don't generally have taste or class, which is why they drive a mustang. All their brain is capable of processing is "big engine" and "must go fast"...

HA.. I hate bud, and I hate NASCAR even more. I hate the fact that half the time you tune to SPEED Channel that's the CRAP that's playing..

Oh and Must Go Fast.. yeah i won't argue with that, but i'm sure that some of your guys like NASCAR and Going fast.

Personally I see myself as more of a BMW 335i kinda guy, just that kids get to be expensive.. and I like feeding my family. Besides who here is paying 0% Financing, 0 down, for 72 Months? Basically a 370 dollar car payment for a 30,000 dollar car.

THis threads getting pretty deep in you know what!

imo, both have their pros/cons. I bought a z over a gt because of the looks and the fact that I've had bad luck with fords in the past.

I can see why you like the GT so much. You have no taste in cars whatsoever. Explorers, taurus and neons; give me a break!

OK, riddle me this, 350zkiller:

Why does Ford need 4.6-litre, 3-valve-per-cylinder, overhead cam V-8 to get 300 hp when the Z does it with a 3.5L V6? I know, torque is higher. Well, not by much. Plus, GT is heavier.

Talk about Ford efficiency...

The only reason why I don't like the new Mustang is because I am not a fan at all of their interior.

Dude, have you ever driven the car? You hit the nail on the head when you said torque.. you can litteraly cruise around at 1100 RPM in that car and still have plenty of punch. The Z on the other hand never has that low end torque. On paper looking at only max numbers, they look fairly close, but in the real world they are very much different animals.

Different strokes for different folks! I loved the new GT when I test drove it last year... the interior was nicer and felt the undeniable pull of that big ol 8 under the hood. I went with the Z because I got into it and something just felt more sporty driving it, the inside a little more cockpitish, and just kind of sexy.
