Default Got a call from Nissan today

Nissan called me today and offered to buy back my car and give me a really good deal on an 06 or 07 Z. I have an 05 silverstone. Has anyone else had this happen?

I don't think they are that desperate for used cars. I think it's common knowledge that its one of the sells tactics to get you to buy a new car.

Hahah if that were the case I'd be at the dealership in a heartbeat. Do you guys think it's worth it to do this, or just keep my car?

depends on how much they are willing to pay for the car. i bet they still only offer you trade-in value.

Did you get a call from NISSAN NORTH AMERICA or from a local NISSAN DEALER trying to get you in to buy a car from you?

NISSAN has been known to buy back certain year cars with certain mileage on them so they can do quality control tests...

Example... 05 350Z's w/ X number of miles with Auto transmission... They will look for X number of cars and buy them and give you a check...

Trying to get you to buy a new car is usually a dealer though...

I get those letters from local dealerships. They just want to sell you a car.

I bet he will be LUCKY to get offered trade in value. I can't believe how hard you have to beat them to give you the trade in value listed on Edmunds.

Don't fall for it, man...would the dealership really be so willing to proactively do this if they weren't coming out ahead on the deal?

Let's see, I get letters, flyers, phone calls, all want my car, it depends of course on which car they know about - sometimes it's the Z, sometimes it's the Passat. Bottom line, they want your money, by screwing you on the trade-in and the new purchase.

I still get these letters regarding my long-gone Celica convertible. Circular filed pronto.

Sales Tactic .... ;-( They sent me a letter too. Called, sales manager said they would give me high book for my car if I bought one of theirs. Of course there cars are above book with dealer pact and you'd be luck to get it back to retail. If you are wanting to trade up ... no so bad a deal. Your still better selling your car yourself and then buying theirs for less than invoice. That's the best way to go. But, it take a bit more time.

I just decided to put '06 Wheels and saved paying all that tax all over again.
Heck, my car is just getting broken in now three years later.

I don't see much difference ....
Gotta love these cars !!!

pretty old trick in the book
they basically go "what if we can get you a new car and keep the payments the same" they simply give you a longer term loan and BAM! you just got laid and did not even enjoy it
mitsu dealer jacked my friend like this .....he went from a 4 yr loan on an evo8 gsr to 7 yr loan on an evo mr payments were about the same but obviuosly he got f**ked
