Should i trade Z in??
I need some input from you guys. So my issue is that the winter is coming very soon and the roads in NYC aren't great to start with. I have had my Z for 2 years now and it only has 9000 miles on it. I have put a lot of money into mods and its been so much fun. So the idea of getting a new H3 Hummer has been on my mind for a little while now. What do you guys think? Should i trade the Z in? I feel like to dont enjoy my Z as much as i should. I have hooked it up and i can't take it anywhere cuz im always scared that someone might steal stuff off the car and some idiot will ding my doors. I could use the space of a bigger car and the 4x4 for the winter.
Also i still owe about 10K on the Z. How does it work if i want to trade her in?
Thanks

You think someone won't ding the doors of a Hummer? =)
Those are two completely different vehicles.. I say if you decide to trade it in (I wouldn't, but I live in FL), comprimise and get the new Toyota FJ cruiser... 2 door coupe meets hulk of a SUV.

The dealership and the banks work everything out for you, even if you still owe money they will take your car for trade in. as long as your car is worth more than you owe. which is the case with you, owing 10k. BUT PREPARE TO GET RAPED!

I would hate to do tons of city driving, i refuse to drive through DC with my Z it is really a seedy place. I don't even go to party at georgetown in it. That is a tough decision for sure
+1 on the 'prepare to get raped' part

Keep the Z . . . buy an older mid-sized SUV as your daily driver, especially in the winter. You can buy a decent one for a reasonable price. H3s are over-hyped. Trust me, I've driven the real (military) HUMVEEs and those H2s & H3s are nothing compared to the real beast.

i hate the h2 and h3 like everyone said over hyped. the inside is so small i rather get a 4runner. its a gas guzzling piece of junk that rappers like to put dubs on like escalade. get other suvs so much better ones out there like land rover sport that is nice

You'll have a hell of a time parking the Hummer H3 all day, every day in NYC. I've driven throughout Philly and NYC and unless you use a parking garage, you'll be wishing for the Z again!
My advice: Keep the Z and take the Subway during the winter season...Most people in NYC don't own cars anyway.
Hope you aren't trying to showboat with the H3...it's an enormous waste of money...if you must get an SUV, get a normal one..lol

It's bad karma to trade a Z for a H-anything. Lol !!!
If your gonna need a 4x4 get a nice used '01 Pathfinder with the all-mode.
It's nice and keeps you going in the worst of stuff. It's roomy, and nice on the eyes.
Not for sale.

the h3 is a dog, the engine is grossly underpowered for its class. Nissan Xterra is 10 times better even though the styling is questionable IMO. Our local dealer goes by KBB trade in value(good condition minus 500$). The last two times i did trade-ins, i actually came out ahead(not counting tax and tags of course) cuz both vehicles were purchased way below invoice.

You're lucky. Down here in Vegas, dealers do KBB trade-in in fair condition.

H3 has 5 cylinders, it won't run in highways. My buddy was looking at one, but decided on a V8 4Runner AWD and it cost nearly the same price. SUV isn't a junk because it is useful to carry junks which I have many times, but I wouldn't buy one, if it is my only car. My cuzs living in NYC for many years has never owned a car before, but don't feel bad for them because they can afford a puny $2500/month apartment. NYC has the best public transportation, you should use it more. Unless you have a growing family, I stay away from H3, if you have to have an SUV, test drive a few especially on freeways.

I'm a little biased but i would get a used Jeep. They are great cars that can handle EVERYTHING you try to shove at em. If the streets have pot holes and traction is worse with rain and snow, then get something that is both safe and capable of traction in all conditions. Plus you can get a quality jeep for beans these days.
Granted you can mod the hell out of it but you can keep it stock...i guess.
