Default CALL CALL CALL!

Call the dealer and then call the regional office for your state. They are on the nissan web site. We can't post them here anymore.

Sounds like a dealer issue...not specifically Nissan.

How do you know you are not on the pre-order list?

I don't know if you are for real or not, but in case you are real...

What pre-order list are you talking about? I've never seen one. Hopefully you aren't referring to the list we have made here on site, as it only contains people who have advised the site of their pre-order info. Hence, you wouldn't be on it, since you haven't advised your info yet.

Trying to help.

Yeah, it's the dealers, not NNA that causes frustration for the buyers. As a late orderer myself, i called a bunch of dealers, one kept telling me to come in and put a thousand down. I asked, well do you have a car, no but we'll see what we can do. All the while they were pretending they had a cancelled order. When i asked for the manager he admitted, the 1000 will put me on a waiting list of cancelled cars that they didn't have yet. What a total waste of time. You have to shop around though, some dealers will just tell you upfront what's going on. I decided on one dealer because he showed me his list of preordered cars and he had about 4 unallocated. I put down on one of the unallocated cars, about a week later he had a vin# for it so he told me that it's probably on the boat in the first shipment. The dealer also told me that nissan will still take orders, not pre-orders, these cars will come after jan or so, his estimation. So if you got lucky, what you probably got was one of these orders which might come in 2nd oct-dec shipment which is after the pre-order, or a normal order which will come after dec. If it's a normal order, hang on to it, but hit the dealers as soon as august rolls around and see if anyone cancelled. My dealer says that most dealers will get a few extra cars in as well as a few cancellations. For how much they'll sell it for who knows, but you can still try to bargain for msrp. ( i know, it's not great but better than an s2000 msrp + 2000 is what i was hearing).
good luck!

islandsnow-

Have you seen the VIN? According to ZISME, the cars have not serialized yet.

Arctic,

I can't believe the cars are not serialized yet. Some have to be making their way across the pacific by now to reach here by mid august. Anyways, i did see some numbers, i didn't write it down so i'm not sure if it was a valid VIN or not. I'll call them monday and verify and see if i get what everyone else is getting, an R number or what. So far this dealer seems to be pretty honest considering i'm in L.A. and had to deal with some pretty lame dealers too. I'll let ya know.

No Vins in our system yet. Be careful when you post that Vins are out there....people who know the difference between Vins and order numbers will be misled.

thanks ZISME,

yes, i know it's a a big concern for a lot of people out there, especially those that ordered in January. I was just posting what my dealer told me. He actually showed me some numbers and he did tell me it was a VIN. So i believed him. Why would he lie about that? Are you telling me dealers are dishonest hehe. I guess what he got was a tracking number? Also if it was an order number he would have already had that wouldn't he? This number whatever it was came in late June. Anyways, thanks for the info. I'm not here to post bogus info, so if you say NNA doesn't have VIN#'s yet, i'm a believer. Sorry for misleading some out there!
