Default Not a single wave returned from a Z driver...

I've passed several Z's in the last month or so and waved to every single one and never received a return wave. Not really a big deal, just an observation.
I've had VW's and Subarus and at least 50% would wave back, if not more. With those vehicles I felt more like the other drivers were fellow enthusiasts.
With the Z I think there's a big difference because a lot of people buy it for the looks rather than because of it's performance or handling. To many those things are secondary to looking cool while cruising down the road.
I'm not saying everyone bought it for that reason, I know there are lots of enthusiasts on this board. It's just a smaller percentage of drivers that are really into the car itself.
I read so many threads on here where guys say to buy the Z because you'll get more chicks....the single dumbest reason to buy a car if you ask me. Even if I wasn't married I wouldn't want a girl that liked me just for my car. And if you have trouble getting girls you should look at other things besides a car to attract their attention.
Again, just an observation I've made from being on this board and owning a Z.

I've seen a dozen or so Subaru's around Tallahassee and Jacksonville, I've gotten a wave from all (I initiated about half the time) except one guy with a SGM Sti here at FSU. He never waves.

I use to wave, but got tired of it. Now, I usually only give props to modded Z's.. Not that I'm being picky, it's just that there are too many Z's in Houston that people purchase as "just a car"...... Guys/gals that mod their Z's tend to be more into their Z. Just an observation..

are you gay? no disrespect...Everyone is self conscious. Answer this one honestly, If there was two identicle females, same personality, body, everything the same...But one drove a bmw z4...and the other a 1989 buick regal...which one would you pick? And just bc you have a nice car doesnt mean thats the only reason your getting girls. I mean it does give you the one up, bc thats one of the first thing women notice (looks), whether its you or your car...looks mean a lot.

Oh for the last few weeks i havent got any waves or high beam flashes from other Z drivers. But during the summer i got them all the time...its a good feeling

Older guys don't even look over, so there isn't a chance to wave.

Don't expect nobody to wave in a Z33.. Most Z owners are 60 year old hippies and your average young cocky person who drives the car because it's the latest nissan sportscar. In the end why do you care so much? I surely don't...

I usually end up waving/getting waves/thumbs up from other cars. Latest waves/thumbs up i've received are a cool fellow with a turbo RSX and a modded BMW M coupe.

Hmm, I get waves and nods from other Z owners. I give them back too, of course.

Good point. This is the 1st time I agree with you. Perception is the key factor here....As with other things in life, we as individuals tend to surround ourselves with other people and objects that reflect our images. If we feel like we're an attractive individual and want to be noticed by the opposite sex, we'll have a tendency to buy a vehicle that exemplifies this characteristic...

I've gotten to the point where I'll only initiate the wave to modded Z33s/Gs, but I always wave back if I'm waved at. Drivers of older Zs are more likely to wave. I was driving the "carpool" to work the other day an my coworker commented, "Do you know everbody that drives a Z?" I said, "No, why?" She said, "Because just about all of them wave at you." I thought it was pretty funny.

There's also a really modded Spec V in my area that I always wave at. Nice car, and he always waves to me.

I live in Palm Springs (2nd to San Fran in gay population), I can't wave back at male drivers in 350z's, if I did odds are they would probably follow me home thinking I wanted to date them

Now if they are female thats a different story, I wave to them all the time, they just dont wave back

Aint that the truth. I remember when I was out there for training and we'd go party there because it was close. Never in my life have I seen so many hot single ladies walking around. I can say in the entire 5 or so months I was there I probably saw like 12 couples who were hetero lol.

Not that I complained because well its good for us girl liking guys heh

I know a guy around here who'll wave who's in an s2000. All the Z owners I see are either old and wont waive or anything. I'll even roll up right next to em and look over and give a nod and they either never even look over or just stare like "wtf is wrong with that guys neck?" lol

Sometimes I wave or give a nod and get it back. Most of the time, the younger crowd just stomps on the gas and tried to race. The older crew doesn't even look.

Oh well. If I was worried about that, I would've bought a Vette.

Waving's not cool anymore. You have to flash gang signs. If you get the wrong one, you get killed... so most people don't try. However, you're generally safe to make the "West Side" sign on the West Coast, and the "Mid East" sign when there, etc.
