i towed my Z on a trailer with my 05 frontier and it was about at the max but it was not bad, it actually surprised me. florida is very flat though so keep that in mind ( you can tow more without the hills)

Pulled a huge boat for 500 miles with my v6 frontier i used to have, it was the crewcab so it was huge and underpowerd. I pulled all kinds of crap with it. A v6 ranger would pull it but it wont be fun trying to stay over 60mph up a small grade.

Damn I am so surprised by this thread - I've towed the Z on a pretty light trailer with the Mercedes Benz V112 CDI - a 2.2 litre, 120 hp turbodiesel with an automatic - and no I am not mad, this car can tow trailer that heavy without any problem.

I would guess that Excursion would do the job right, it should have similar torque number as my MB if it's a V6 (don't even know if there are V6 powered Excursions), if it is a V8 I wouldn't hesitate

That V6 Frontier has the VQ motor similar to our Z. One of the big reason for me to buy the Pathfinder to pull my boat. ~ 4500lbs. Pathfinder rated for 5500lbs. and it tows very nicely.

Ford Ranger is about 3500 MAX if you have auto / load equal bars and a lot of extra stuff ... Then you have your brakes to think about. Trailer with trailer brakes maybe .... I wouldn't and you'd most likely need air bags or air shocks if you didn't use equalizer bars that cost like $1000-1500.

Yes.

But I wouldn't recommend it. I went to a scale without the Z and total weight was 7000 lbs.
