Plus for all the people who think the auto is slow, slap on a new valve body, torque converter, and TT and we'll see how SLOW an auto really is.

-You think my car is slow? We’ll, I could slap on a turbo and bore the engine to 4 liter with a 9k rev limiter and I’ll show you how slow my car is!
If that’s what it takes to prove to me your AT is as fast as my bone stock MT, go ahead! Lol !!!
Oh and juggling cigarette, coffee, phone and clients while driving is an accident waiting to happen, regardless of type of transmission you have…
Face it fellas... Driving a MT is alot easier than some of you make it out to be. It isn't as if you discovered the Ark or something.
Now driving a MT well is a whole different ballgame. And from alot of the Z videos out there, it's something that most of you haven't grasped.

For those who think you have to have a MT to be a real driver and if you have an AT your just a whoos, you might want to take a closer look at Formula 1 cars, you know, those 900 hp 1500# speed demons that regularly exceed 200 mph. To "shift" gears in them, all you do is push a button. The only time you touch the clutch is if you come to a stop. Maybe not an AT, but close enough to fake it. And, IRL cars aren't much different...there you move a stick back and forth instead of pushing a button. I guess they are not hairy chested dare devils. And , considering what Danica looks like, that is a good thing.https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif

When I was looking into buying I seen that the hp/tq were about par between the two, unlike some other cars where the difference is night and day. As for why I got a auto, I wanted the wife to be able to drive it, I tried teaching her mt with the celica and she come close to trashing it as well as the clutch!
Another reason I got an AT is because I knew that just being able to learn to drive the Z would be a learning experience in itself and since I bought it right after getting back from Iraq the last thing I needed was another thing to get used to. I swear I was the worst driver ever when I first got back. Apparantly we're not allowed to drive in the middle of the road and shoot at people who get in our way here. Although if I could I'd mount a mk on my Z to let ppl know I mean business.
Will my next Z or whatever sports car I get be a MT probably although I'd rather get a DSG or SMG.
And as for doing all the talking, eating, drinking and driving, well doing one of those by itself is fine in good weather. Doing all of those in perfect weather is dangerous depending on the situation. If its a 4 lane highway with no one on it seriously its not that dangerous. Granted why anyone would dare eat in the Z I have no clue lol

autos are good for daily drivers / full out drag cars, manuals are for the enthusiasts and people who like having full control
plus, why not do burnouts for days??? ha ha gotta love the MT

in a nut shell if you bought a 5AT then performance was not priority #1. on the same note the elistist attitude of **** jerking is astounding...LOL.

so basically your saying modding auto will be faster than a stock MT!!?!??!?!?!?!?!...OK
>>...........mod for mod MT owns!
It's not that hard to learn how to drive manual. Even my grandmother, she 80 years old, drives a manual transmision vehicle, and she does very well, she say's that people in these days are getting lazy, that why they buy most of the time automatic tranmision vehicles..
