Before my 350Z, I drove a '90 Rx7, vert. Sold the Rx7, for dwn pymt on Z, had 120,000 mi. & original clutch.
Treat them gently, but drive them hard!
P.S. the Z was a great upgrade.

well i was doing well over 100 m.p.h . My guess is when that civic came outta nowhere i pressed the break , and probably pressed the clutch but not all the way leaving it partially engaged. i figure that scenario at over 100 m.p.h is what fried the cluctch.
but either way am not sweating the problem b/c like i said the nissan guy is replacing it at no charge.!

nope, no way, you did nothing wrong man. clutchs dont go out by how fast you go. Its like one big brake pad sandwhiched between 2 rotors(flywheel, pressure plate) if you slam on your brakes one time from 100mph do you burn out your brakes?no! Anyhow, glad their fixing it, but dont take any line about you being the one burning it out in 1000 miles

The engine speed is all that matters (RPM) and not the actual speed of the car. Something was definitely wrong with your clutch. I'd bet that it never fully disengaged with the pedal all the way down and it rubbed through every shift, etc.
The type of driving you do can make a big difference in the life of the clutch. For instance, if most of the miles you put on your car are highway miles, the clutch should last longer, since you're not shifting nearly as much. If you do lots of clutch-slipping launches, you'll lose clutch life.
