Default How to get that aero engine tray off for Track oil changes??

I have twice now changed my own oil on my Track model, and both times I have made a huge mess because I can't get that black engine cover/tray thing off the bottom of my car. I can get all of the screws off, but I can't get that little round plastic clip thing to release. Consequently, when I pull out the plug and the filter, oil goes into the tray and then everywhere. Someone please tell me how to get that thing off. Thank you very much.

haha, your gonna hit yourself when I tell you this...

when looking at it, you have a plastic ring outside, and then like a plastic nail on the inside, and the ring has 4 raised sections around it.

take a flat head screw driver, push it under the inside plastic "nail" (between the nail and the plastic ring, go in inbetween the raised sections) and pop it out. itll fall out. feel free to practice on the easy to reach ones on the top of the bumper when you open the hood, they are the exact same way.

to resinstall, you just push the ring in, and then push the center nail through. its just a simple rivot if your familiar with them.

If you take out all the bolts, you can pivot the plastic air shield on that pesky clip that's left. Turn it 90 degrees out from front to back and you'll have all kinds of room to work.
That also saves having to hold it back up while you get some of the bolts in!!!

Yeah, my dad and I had the same problem when we did the first oil change. I must have turned that thing for about 40 seconds before I realized that it just pops out. Are there any other cars like this?
