Research the site and you'll find out answers. I found over 600 threads on the word "insurance."

Default Paying way too much

What insurance company are you guys with? I'm 23 with no accidents or tickets in the last three years and I'm paying $1590/6 months with AIG. At 260/mo. my insurance is more than half of my car payments. I should've rolled with the G35 coupe. Oh well.

Q: How much will my insurance cost? How much are you paying for insurance, I want to compare to see if I'm paying a fair price?

"Please don't ask that question. Ever. It is the most useless question that can be asked on this or any other automotive forum. Why? What you, I and anybody else pays is dependent on several factors: who your insurer is, where you live, how old you are, how many accidents/tickets you've had, what kind of discounts you get from your ins. company, how many cars and drivers in your family, etc."

Man, all the post/thread police people need to calm down. It's a no-brainer that insurance rates are dependant on dozens of factors. Anyone with a driver's license knows that. Is it still pointless to wonder how much other people are paying for their insurance, just for a point of reference to contextualize your own rates with the market? Of course not. Like BlackzNismo is paying 217 a month, and he's from California and he's 2 years older than me, so I can understand why mine would be a bit higher. On the other hand, xjongsangx80 is paying less than half of what I'm paying, while being only 2 years older than me, so that would normally raise red flags, but I can look at his profile and see he's from North Carolina, which I suppose would explain the lower rates. Now if he were paying that much and he lived in California, then that would prompt me to investigate further on how there's such a huge discrepency in how much we're paying for insurance.

Either way, no one is going to take another person's rate at face value. Of course we'll factor in age, location, record, etc. in explaining different rates. And while it may seem futile to some of you to even ask this question without a definite answer to be found, it's useful to some of us who like to gauge where we stand in the grand scheme of things. Unless you guys know a definitive site that shows demographics and how much they typically pay for insurance, these threads will always be around. I swear I don't understand why/how you guys get bothered and worked up so easily.

Oh no... another teen researching to see if every penny he earns can afford him a Z... No wonder the Z's insurance rates keep going up.

Looking at the widely varying amounts that people have posted here makes me wonder if the OP really got a meaningful answer to his question. My guess is no.
