Extend warranty
i have a 2003 Z, and it has about 25g miles on it....im curious how much would it cost to get the extanded warranty? just curious cause my friend just got his transmission replaced by nissan under warranty......and i think my tranmission might go out soon too thanks
Isn't the transmission covered under the 50k or 60k powertrain warranty that comes standard with the Z? The 30k warranty also comes standard, but that's for all the other parts and what not.
Yes, you are still covered under the powertrain warranty, regardless of where you bought the car.
See: http://www.nissanusa.com/owning/warranty/
The powertrain warranty covers the transmission and is 5 years/60,000 miles.

I negotiated a sweet extended Nissan warranty for my 06. For an extra $1,500.00, I'm covered up to 84 months or 70K. It's also pro-rated if I decide to cancel.
Most of these dealers have room to bargain. They originally offered it to me for $3K

You can purchase a warranty from Nissan or a third party seller. The warranty is only as good as the company that sells it. If, like insurance, it makes you feel more secure, buy it.
^^ (imho I will never by an ext warranty for a car!)
Got this from the above site
2006 Nissan 350z w/10k miles
Covers the most likely to fail “big ticket items” plus many others
Terms/Miles*......Will expire on.....Or when odometer reaches...$0....$100
5 Yrs/60k Miles... 10/12/2011 ........60k Miles....................... $881 $656
Now wouldn't they just be taking the money and having Nissan cover it under their manufacture 5/60 warranty? WTF!!

...now, if I can only get Nissan to make a decision on transfering the extended warranty into my name, I would then be a happy camper.
I have been at it since July 22, 2006. Up until now, sending the required documentation - including a check - to the appropriate Nissan department via USPS registered mail was not sufficient. Contacted customer service, faxed them all my documention and I still have not heard from Nissan.
I stated to customer service that I currently have a 2005 350Z, a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder, and a 1995 Nissan 300ZX and that the company's inability to make a decision, preferably favorable, is jeopardizing a family's relationship with the brand.
What does it take for Nissan to listen to a distressed customer who wishes to bring closure to a purchase of a leased Nissan vehicle and finalize the purchase transaction by processing the extended warranty transfer?
I am afraid that I am that lonely tree in the forest which is falling down and it does not make any sound because no one is there to listen. Imagine, if you will, many trees falling down and yet no sound. At that rate, the forest will eventually be cleared and then Nissan will wonder what happened. Sorry for digressing ....

I got quoted an extended warranty for a 7 yr/100k warranty for $1500. I passed on it because it was prorated to the car but the price wasn't. Basically I would be paying $1500 for 3 years and 50k miles.
