Default 2003 CXrackling Noise

I have an 03 and when I diwnshift or start going from a stop, I can hear crackling noises coming from the back of the car. Like metal crackling... I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and whether it could be a u-joint or the limited slip?
Thanks

I think that's what it is. I have a 1984 Corvette that does the same when you put the auto trans in drive. I would have thought the Z would not do that, though. Especially one with 8k miles.

Oh, BTW, mine is 6-speed.
