Default EZ Pass tag

i was wondering if i can put the ez pass tag on the winshield, behind the shaded part..just to the right, of where the mirror is atached to the winshield? i wouldn't want to put it on the clear part of the winshield because it will be too much towards the passenger side and it wouldn't look good. would the detector on the toll booth be able to read the tag if it is behind the shaded part of the winshield?
i wanted to know if anyone has placed it there with no problems..or does it HAVE TO go on the clear part?

thanks,

Gerardo

It should work behind the shaded part however, I have the holder with the suction cups and they won't stick to the shaded part..... I keep mine in the center console and pull it out when I need it... My ez pass use to work in my pocket when I took my motorcycle out....

I have a friend who placed his there and it worked about 50% of the time. The antenna systems at each location are all a bit different in set-up, hence the problem. I never put mine on the window and just store it in the empty nav compartment and take it out whenever I need it. I don't want the state of New York tracking my every move, which is what they can do if you leave the sensor mounted in plain site.

I actually just keep mine in the center console and leave it there. It seems to work within the console even though it's closed. So far it's worked 100% of the time.

What's an EZ Pass? Is that some kind of Toll Road crap?

Last time I drove to the North East, I remember thinking that they needed to put up a bill board that said "Welcome to the NE -
Get Your Wallet Out & Keep It Handy".

You probably have to pay a State Income Tax too. What do they do with all your tax $? It certainly isn't used to fill potholes.
