Would've helped before to mention you had an aftermarket alarm.....

And yes it's normal, my viper alarm does the same thing.

Interesting. The auto lock feature is clearly described on page 3-4 of my manual.

Straight from the 06 manual (same page 3-4):

Lockout protection
When the power door lock switch (driver or front passenger) is moved to the LOCK position with the key in the ignition and any door open, all doors will lock and unlock automatically. This helps to prevent the keys from being accidentally locked inside the vehicle.

That's lock-out protection. That's not auto-locking.

Lock-out protection won't let you lock the doors with the keys in the ignition. Auto-lock locks the doors when you're driving so that you can't accidentally open the doors while moving. My '06 doesn't auto-lock. I haven't researched this yet, but it's either a feature you can turn on or off or it's a feature of the OP's Clifford alarm.

Read the owner's manual of the alarm. If you don't like the auto-lock, I'm sure there's a way to turn it off.

I have an 03 and the doors do autolock when you start the engine. But I don't have to stop the engine to unlock them. You should be able to just push the unlock button on the door armrest (don't know what else to call it) or push the unlock button on the handle. My handle doesn't unlock it automatically when pulled.
I have an '03 auto and I don't have auto locking.
Hrmm....

Read the thread carefully. He has an aftermarket alarm, that's what's doing the auto-locking. Stock Z's don't come with autolocking although you can buy an aftermarket auto door lock/unlock controller. Check out http://www.kptechnologies.com

I read the thread carefully. Tayzzer22 seems to have an auto locking feature on his 03 that no one else has. He does not mention an aftermarket alarm on his Z but his Z has autolocking? That's what I am questioning.
